give the answer minus time at camps ect.
Lets see 18 months minus 1 month for summer camp, 1.5 months for this winter, 1.5 months for bar mitvah( attending services and practicing)/ long school hours (till 4:10), 2 months for camping/ vacations
so like 12 months

Almost exactly 2 years now. Mostly Muni and also 36er. Prior to that, I hadn't ridden a uni since 1970, so it was basically starting over from scratch, especially since there was no such thing as MUni or extreme unicycling back then.

I first started to learn how to unicycle in July 2002.

depends what you mean by riding. i have been unicycling for four years but it wasn't until about 6 months ago that i found out about tricks and MUni and all that i used to just ride around and hangout with friends not doing crazy stuff so i guess I've been riding for 6 months.

riding for 6 months minus 2 months of recovering from injuries equals 4 months.

i was slow to learn ride a unicycle, but i learned faster tricks and stuff.
But i have riding unicycle in 8 month, minus 1 month without unicycle (it was broke :P)

I first tried a unicycle back in 2003 but I got my first one in late 05. I rode fairly steady until last January when I got myself a 26" MUni and I really got into it.
I have been able to ride for 4 and a half years, have been riding regularly for 2 years and have been fairly passionate about it for one year.
I am not taking time off for injuries or month long canoe/hiking trips as I don't see why they mater.

4 months - 2 months for injuries = 2 months. Unfortunately, it looks like I have another month to recovery.
Advise to the new riders, wear knee and shin guards, and a helmet.
Unicycle = $200
Quality shin guards and helmet = $180
Doctors and Physical Therapist = $1700

I rode for a year maybe a year and a half but not often.
Then..... nothing for 25 years.
This time around 8 months - 2 months for ankle injury= 6 months.
Total about 2 years.
Tips:
1. I don't recommend riding big wheels at high speeds on pavement while you are wearing slippery sandals unless you:
a) have really good reflexes
b) are an extremely skilled, confident, and lucky unicyclist
c) enjoy injury
d) can fly
2. I don't recommend riding on wet algae grown boardwalks unless you:
a) like pain
b) are a nut
c) have written a will
d) don't have any legs to jam against posts
3. I do recommend as Old Drone stated that you ride while properly protected regardless of how long you have been riding or how crazy you perceive yourself to be.

well on June 10th I think I will have been a uni addict for about 4 years, I didn't start learning tricks until the second year just about, I had an injury that put me out for a few months..... if your curious as to what the injury was then too bad.... I'm not telling(although I'm sure any MRian could tell you, and probably will tell you as soon as they see this post) so yeah... about 4 years.... and I own about 6 unicycles now.... woot!

I was following along till the math part. A simple question got complicated.
I started when I was around 13. There have been lots of summer camps between then and now. I sort of lost track.

Would I say I have only began riding a bike for 3 months since I can 180, but have been riding for years? I think you mean you have been doing tricks for 6 months.
Almost my 1year anniversary this february!
