I know this is too late for a lot of the planet, but when the new year rolls around for those of you who still have a few hours to go, post the proclamation and your region here (if you're not out partying, of course).
I've got a little over 5 hours left, myself.

We had a big shindig planned at church tonight, but our light snow dusting turned into 6 inches so it got cancelled.
So I though I was going to have a quiet evening at home. But now I'm about to head to Rockford on a car rescue mission. A friend is broken down and I have the 4x4 and the trailer. So off I go into the wild white yonder.

We had a few people over.... ate a bunch of food... blew up some old stale firecrackers... then lit a fire in a pan and threw some more old stale firecrackers into it...
And we had ginger ale/ice cream punch with dry ice in it.
That pretty much sums up our new years extravaganza. back to the dreary old grindstone, eh?

But now I'm about to head to Rockford on a car rescue mission. A friend is broken down and I have the 4x4 and the trailer. So off I go into the wild white yonder.
We had quite an adventure with the rescue. Our predicted light dusting of snow turned into eight inches last night. Out in the open country, the blowing and drifting was incredible, but the big 4x4 pulled us through. Top speed on the highways was 35 mph, if that. So many vehicles in the ditches! But we made it up and back safely with downed car in tow. We finished off the last hour before midnight with pizza and Dew and a great game of Sequence.

It's 2:39 PM here, and I just got home from the party. We had a snowstorm this morning and the roads are really bad.
And I just relized that I completly forgot fireworks this year...
Happy New Year!

One to remember fondly. I got distracted last night and forgot to wish you a safe rescue journey. I'm glad the mission was successful and everyone made it back safely!

Thanks. It was quite fun. The snow was beautiful, the company even more so.

Driving a 4x4 in snow: dangerous.
Drinking Mt. Dew around midnight: sheer madness.
Bruce, with each post, I gain a newfound respect for you.

Probably not as dangerous as the "other guy" on the road on New Years Eve. :)
Drinking Mt. Dew around midnight: sheer madness.
That on top of freshly ground Andes Mint Chocolate coffee! I wish I had Smell-O-Net. I've never experience a coffee aroma quite like these beans.
