Is it just me, or do the forums seem to be kind of "dead" at the moment?
Could it be that I havent been on a unicycle in a little over a half of a year?
I could understand rec.sport.unicycle feeling dull to me, because I dont feel like a unicyclist anymore.
But even JC seems very dull right now.
Whats the deal? Is it just me?

Andrew,
I hear ya, bub. It got that way for me and I was gone probably approaching a year or so...don't remember rightly. But it's stuff like this (http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65884) that causes me to walk away in disgust. There are so many great people on these forums, and wonderful personal friends that we've met and ridden with through the years. But the forum population and discussions seem to be degrading past the point that makes it worth hanging around. Maybe it's just my advancing years, I don't know. I do know that I have more and more important things cropping up these days that take my time that makes it easier to move on to bigger and better things.
All the best with your decisions.

So you think that the forums are going to get worse?
If its true, then this is very dissapointing.

I get bored with the forums every now and then. Mainly because in JC, the topics arent interesting to me, or something I want to take part of. In RSU, there is no news that really grabs me.
There are times when a lot of stuff is happening though, like new frames, new designs, and stuff, and those are interesting, but when its a group rides, and some other basic RSu stuff, it bores me.
Then again, once Im bored I go and do something, like unicycle, or guitar, or crochet. You get the point.

Yes, they are. So are doctors. I had a policeman who was one of my students pull me over. I deserved it but he let me off anyway. I used to go shooting with him when he was still at our lab. Guess he knew I was armed.
Back on track:
If you don't enjoy reading the fora anymore, don't do it. Do what you enjoy or, better, try to set an example of the kind of presence you would like to see here.
For example, many members had or still have funny sig lines quoting goofy things that other members had posted. Now we get "slap that bitch" in a sig line. Classy. There used to be content in the new threads posted. Now we get the equivalent of the National Enquirer or "Vote for..." or some pointless poll. There used to be thoughtful, informative, insightful, or at least clever posts in response to threads with content. Now we get, "ha ha", "+1", "I don't know, maybe someone else does", or "that's stupid, you should get a..."
I don't see this taking a turn for the better. Maybe with your leadership it could.

This is my kind of contributing post...
We're talking about the downward slump of the forum because of people who use such vulgar and don't think before posting, and VOILA! Perfect example. Last time I checked male genetailia doesn't talk, or make noise.
Let me ask you NKahler, did he ever say he doesn't ride? Looked to me as if he said he hadn't been on a unicycle for 6 months.
I know I've been on these forums a lot less recently. It just seems as though the forums are going no where fast. JC used to be a fun place. But, I'm afraid it sort of pains me to look at it.
I'm not saying everybody, there's just some people who are not creating conversation in the "Just Conversation" forum.
Sorry if anybody is offended.

I was bored of the forums a bit ago, and I might if posted that in here, but I like them again now.
RSU has thread in it now that are grabbing my attention, and JC has a few more thread in there that I enjoy reading and contributing in.

well poseidon...it looked to me like he said he didn't (did not) unicycle...i don't (do not)know if you have trouble with contractions, but i didn't (did not) see any reason for you to go of on NKhaler like that. He makes a good point...not that i care if there are people on here who don't (do not) unicycle... but it is a fair question...so next time don't (do not) post without reading first...thanks

If we let people who don't unicycle on these forums, who knows WHAT could happen.
Non-unicyclists aren't really in the Unicyclist.Community.
AND Harper, is that really you? Your name seems to have changed slightly.
