he was probably the only mime that made me question the old juggler's adage "the only good mime is a dead mime."

"the only good mime is a dead mime."Marcel may have agreed in the case of bad mimes. From the first link in my first post:

But Mr. Marceau also lamented that some of his less-talented imitators had given mime a bad name. He especially rued the street mimes who worked popular tourist attractions.

Be sure to check out the third link, it's a parody.

Conan O'Brien mentioned him last night.

"Marcel Marceau passed away...his last words were in 1952"

I love the fact that Mel Brooks got Marcel Marceau to speak the only line in his Silent Movie.

Class.

I didn't even know he was sick.

He should have said something.

Marceau to be buried Wednesday

24 September 2007 | 13:49 | FOCUS News Agency

Paris. Marcel Marceau, the world-famous mime artist who died on Saturday, will be buried on Wednesday at the Pere-Lachaise cemetery in central Paris, the funeral directors said.

The ceremony - with prayers from a former chief Rabbi of France - will be "on the theme of silence" in accordance with his family's wishes, they said.

Marceau died in the southern town of Cahors at the age of 84. (AFP)
We should pay our respects with a moment of fora silence tomorrow: don't post for the time period of one hour times your average daily post count.
