seat design

I tried my uni out and the seat design is well........ horrible. There is NO WAY
I could ride this very much at all. I took the seat apart and discovered that
the padding consists of:

a. A piece of 1" carpet padding trimmed to the exact shape of the seat

b. A VERY thin piece of foam (1/8" at the most) which covers that and is the
"padding" for the sides.

That's it! The carpet padding is very firm. I may be nuts, but I think a well
padded seat (both on the top and sides) would be much more comfortable. Could
anyone clue me in as to seat design/padding?

The cover is made of 2 pieces: one the shape of the top of the seat and the
other the "side". There is a seam running around the top edge of the seat.

The sides of the seat also angle outward slightly. I pushed them in a
little.....

I assume there are places that one can buy good unicycle seats.... In the
meantime, I am going to try some 2" foam......

I haven't the foggiest notion about what constitutes a good seat (other than the
input my bum gives me when I sit on it), so I can't help you, but I had a
question of my own along the same lines: I recently saw an interesting seat on a
bike and was wondering if it could be used on a uni. It was split-seat design
with a pad for each 'cheek.' :)

It would seem to me that this design would be more comfortable, esp. for men.
I've always held that unicycling is a sport better suited to women for obvious
reasons. Perhaps this kind of seat, if feasable, would tip the scales?
