100,000 years from now, nothing is left from human civilization except a space capsule containing CD-rom of unicyclist.com fora.

An advanced civilization of alien life forms happens upon the capsule and decodes the CD-rom.

What do the aliens infer about human civilation from their findings?

Nothing because the forums wouldn't fit on a single CD-ROM :p

Nothing because the forums wouldn't fit on a single CD-ROM :pOk a "box set" or a dvd with a bunch of videos!:D Then they could build a vcr-dvd player combo to watch it on...and maybe...just maybe if they are advanced enough, they could also figure out how to get that stupid time display to stop flashing 12:00!!!!;)

they'd think that all humans were well balanced, and nice... and could do cool tricks on one wheel, then they would all build super high-tech unicycles that never break....

well if they found a CD/DVD they probably wouldnt know wot the F*** to do with it.

I mean you'd need to give them a DVD/cd player probably a computer as well cause they probably would have no idea how to decode our binary data, then you'd have to hope they were able to see a computer screen.... you'd also have to hope they dont destroy it before it boots.....

They might use the cd/dvd for skeet, now that sounds like a fun idea, Grab your shoot guns.

They would realise that it's impossible to be too sexy for your unicycle.
And that BTM is a troublemaker.

And they would know who the ThreadKiller actually is.

That advanced civilization would see the quest for the perfect crank length as a pivotal point in human development into becoming a Utopian and peaceful society.

(I had initially misread the introduction thread.)

nah, personal preferance and riding style are too much of an influence on the "perfect" crank length

hmm, maybie you're right!
or maybie humanity is on the verge of destroying itself(much more likely)

and decodes the CD-rom.

I just can't believe that one! in just 30 years from now nobody would be able to decode a CD-rom content! (I just can't decode things that I kept coded in 1984!).
I think the aliens will think that according to the size of this strange necklace then those who bore those beautiful jewells had a very very narrow neck!

And so, I am going to change the scenaro a bit then...there was a reading device in the pod AND a hard copy that John Foss printed up for prosperity...and copies in Esperanto, Latin, and Mandarin.

Boy, when the aliens read this, they are going to get a good laugh...

I also think they will have the technology to prove that the Constant Footspeed Hypothesis was indeed perfectly accurate, it was just way ahead of our understandig at the time.

Supposing that a super intelligent civilization that could translate any of our nonsensical languages, did see these transcripts, or media files. Being gelatinous creatures they would become jealous of our feat’s of balance and then would most defiantly becoming enraged. Sending there drones . . . of “jellyfish” that would spell our extinction. So you see it is all our fault the human race is destroyed!!!
