I just wanted to see what people are like here. I see mine as half empty, but I still consider myself an optimist.

wait wouldn't "the cup is half full" be an optimist
and "the cup is half empty" be pestimistic

No my cup is filled with cow droppings and baby blood. In this case half empty is being an optimist.

This analogy doesn't work for me.

If the cup was full and half was dumped out then it is half empty. If the cup was empty and was filled half way then it is half full.

Also, who is to say that the cup being full is a good thing? Maybe it would be better if the cup was empty, which would switch the roles of optimist and pesimist.

And im usually a pesimist

I think it depends on whether a person is drinking or pouring.

I think when they ask you to pee in the cup your supposed to fill it more than half way.

The cup isn't half full or half empty. It's just a cup... It's just...there.

So I voted for all options.

It depends what's in the cup. Some days it's mud, and other days it's roses. :)

Mine is half full. In fact, I'm so optimistic, my blood type is B positive.

My answer is based on "how long one must hold the cup."

I would consider it half empty for long duration. For short duration (half cup of great booze) half full.
