Where do you get all them pallets ay?

i see in many uni videos that pallets and sometimes wooden cable reels are used for trials, and why not?
they're so versatile. But where do you get them? (and for free!)

Builders, construction sites, supermarkets, shops, buisnesses, metal merchants, junk yards.

Basically you can get them from anywhere you can find them. Everyone has pallets.

Supermarkets shops, and merchants frequently reuse them, but more than not the average construction worker would be more than happy to let you have some. If you see any of those big trash dumpsters they leave when there building houses...lets just say I hope you don't have your Sunday clothes on.

I used to just walk around the neighbourhood looking for them. I've got about 8 now. This morning somebody nicked one. But they chose the crappiest one, so that's alright.

And yes, construction sites and edges of empty fields are probably two best places to look for pallets. I want a cable reel, though.

I get my pallets from around warehouses, I get 8-10 a day only because I don't like more than that in my truck at one time.

I'm making a huge trials course. I will prolly have about 150 pallets by the time I'm done.

I just drive around the industrial end of town untill i see a pile of pallets that isn't surrounded by a fence. Then I take them.

that kinda sucks for you since your 14. Unless your mom or dad would be willing to let you take some from a store.

I got to a K-mart that has anywhere from 1-100 palelts behind it. I dont take them, I just set it up and ride it until im too tired.

Theres a Lowes by me too that has about 1k palelts that they jsut trash, so I can take those whenever.

Dunno if they have it in Australia, but I have found that if I just say I want some on Craigslist, someone usually has some they will give me to save throwing them away. I probably have about 30 of them... (Which is good... cuz I keep breaking them... :o )

Otherwise... as they said... check warehouses and construction sites... anything that ships or receives products that would fit on a pallat.

My grandpa used to own a construction company, and he has about 100 sidewalk forms just laying out in the grass. for those of you know don't know what they are, see the bottom left in the image:

they're really heavy, and some of the wood on them had rotted out, but they're incredibly sturdy if you lay them correctly. I have a couple pallets, but I'm sure I could find a ton if I looked for them.

So, my dad and i went on a 7:30 Hiatus through the streets of Newcastle in search of pallets, it was fruitful indeed.
in less than an hour we had, ahem, 'liberated' 5 pallets, in three separate runs.
2 longish ones, one normal square one, and two absolutely huge CEDAR ones that i have to modify to make them easier to live with (cut the cardboard pad of each and get onto em with the circular saw) to make 5 pallets, into 7.
I am so happy:)

well my dad has them laying around his factory so when i go there i just setup a track with them. Hes got so much crap in his factory so i can make quiet a good lil trials course with all the stuff around the place.

Also if your looking for pallets look in the industrial areas coz sometimes theres some laying around that there giving away for free maybe coz there a little bit broken. easily fixed but they dont have time to fix em so they just give them away. Also in empty blocks of land in the industrial areas theres pallets laying around there too. Ppl dump all sorts in empty blocks of land. Be careful of syringes though.
