In my OPINION, I believe it's wrong and sick. You can be gay all you want but don't display it infront of me. I think this is something that should be left OUT of unicyclist.com forums, but that's just me.
Not to change the subject, doesn't it get old and annoying for people to tag stuff as "gay"?

Well, think about for them, im sure they dont like seeing a straight couple being all over each other and stuff in public too.
Im not saying you do this, but if you do, and to all the others, should we stop displaying public affection as well?

It is wrong because the Bible says so!
And in a theocracy such as the United States of America, one nation under the CHRISTIAN God only, all Americans are REQUIRED to believe in God and so follow exactly what the Bible says!
Therefore, those who engage in homosexual practice will be stoned to death, by order of the Lord!
Death to all Heathens and Pagans!!!

As well as a woman who is not a virgin on her wedding day, and anyone who does any work on the Holy Sabbath!! STONE THEM ALL TO DEATH!!!
In the words of the great prophet Bob Dylan, EVERYBODY MUST GET STONED!!

I think that's funny...you juggling deer legs! :) My dad hunts deer. Very creative idea! I'd like to see people's reaction to that in public. On the other hand, not to be rude, I would hate to be in a public place with my wife and children and see some gay guys kissing or showing PDA :( . I don't support homosexuality, but at the same time, I am not going out trying to stop it. If you keep it private where I don't know, I won't care. And just because someone's gay doesn't mean I'll treat you different or have less respect for you as a human being. I won't be the first to tell you I disagree, but we can all look past our differences and focus on what we enjoy in common, which is why we're all here: UNICYCLING. :D

What do you believe about being Gay...
I would attribute it to be about 4/5 nature, 1/5 nurture. Your genes play a strong role, but I'm not foolish enough to discount the environment one is raised in. I'm sure there are plenty of homosexual people out there who suppress it because of the way they were raised.
What do I think about gay marriage? Well, when someone asks this question, it is normally implied that they are asking about laws. I think the government should get its hands out of marriage entirely. Marriage is a religious ceremony derived, obviously, from religion. The religions of its people should have no effect on government policies, least of all here. Go ahead and argue that religion influences the votes of representatives...I'll agree with you. That said, the majority of this country's founding population came here to avoid religious tyranny and persecution. The government needs to wash its hands of religion and stay out of the matter entirely. If that means that churches lose their tax breaks, so be it.
All that said, I have absolutely no problem with churches/mosques/whatever refusing gays the right to marry. I also have no problem with those organizations refusing them membership, or anything of the like. They have that right, and I'm not going to try and take it from them.
I think the government should abstain from recognizing marriage at all (remember, marriage is religion-based), and instead support civil unions, which would be available to all, gay or straight. These civil unions would have the same legal standings/benefits as marriages do now and, I think, would largely eliminate government discrimination against gays.
Just in case you missed all that, here we go:
- government stops recognizing marriages
- government instates civil unions
` everyone is eligible for a civil union

It's really "JUST ME". I don't want to see the sight of the same sex show (Let me be more specific to avoid confusion) EXCEEDING PUBLIC DISPLAYS of affection. Okay, I will peck my wife in public and hold hands, but we practice self-control and modesty. We don't "make out" in public--that's for private. Now this goes for not only gay people, but straight as well: I don't want to see gross, "OVER" displays of affection. It's just that- I don't want to. And I"m sure you're going to say the same for me.
My wife and I saw lesbians holding hands in Busch Gardens (theme park). I didn't think much of it. If they kissed, I wouldn't have said anything. If they were all-out deep and explicitly kissing and going crazy and all, I would be disgusted. Same for men and same for straight couples. Gay couples can do what well-bred (no pun intended), good manner folks do in public, but PLEASE, don't go overboard...don't make a scene.
You are free to agree or disagree with me, you are free to hate me. This is just my opinion. I've had many homosexual friends before and I don't let it in the way of our friendship. They know I disagree and they'll respect that by not offending me. There's a place and time for everything. If I was having a jewish friend over, I would respect him by not serving ham for dinner.
I hope this helps you see what I think. Feel free to tell me where you see where I'm wrong in my view. I'm open to criticism. In no way to I intend to initiate a quarrel of anger and hatred. I am just carrying on the conversation. I think manners, courtesy and respect go a long way for all walks of life. If I was rude or disrespectful in any way, I apologise

It's not just you. I get uncomfortable too if it goes too far. I can understand that after years in the closet you can get carried away with the whole "I'm NOT ashamed!" attitude, so that goes some way to excusing some peoples manners.

Iv got nothing against kids, but I find a lot of the 13 and 14 year olds on the forums make such unbelievably irritating posts! I have tried not to say anything before but im coming to the end of my tether!
In fact, I don't know why I even bothered looking in Just Conversation, its only ever full of crap anyway!

The world would be a far happier place if people spent more time on self-improvement and less on moralising about the harmless private lives of complete strangers. My advice: if you don't like same-sex relationships, don't have one.
Having said all that, if you collect stamps, that's OK, but I don't want to know about it, right? Don't ask, don't tell. ;-)

I couldn't imagine having sex with a man. The thought seemed gross, and seeing it as a sexual thing, I imagined gays were sick and gross.
Over the years I met many people and came to understand that being gay is not about sex. Gay people need to share their interests with others, like anyone.
My town is so gay. It has many men who are in love with fasion . I can't even spell it right ! These men hang out and go shopping with their gay and female friends. It is extremely important to them how they look. It effects how they feel etc. And there is a lot of tough looking girls that dress as poorly as I do.
I learned that gay people feel different, act different and dress different because that's how they were born. It makes no more sense to hate gays then blacks or any other natural group. :)
I have always noticed the bible thumpers to be stupid beyond rational appeal. Everyone but them is going to hell, blah, blah, blah. The fact that they hate it makes me want to try gayness, except I can't, the sex part seems to gross!:p

Dear Male Bible literalists that ride unicycles. I have some terrible news for you.
You might as well quit now. You are banned from entering the assembly of the lord (i.e. Heaven).
Deuteronomy 23:1 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=deuteronomy%2023:1&version=47)
No one whose testicles are crushed or whose male organ is cut off shall enter the assembly of the LORD.
I think it's safe to say we've all found ourselves a bit crushed in the 'nads once in a while. It's God's way of saying he doesn't like a show-off on a unicycle.

Good lord, I take a few weeks away and look what happens to the forum. It's been taken over by crazy individualists who want to dictate how other people behave.
It's the same the world over, though. I've just been looking at the gay forum and they have a thread on whether 20" or 24" is the best size for a beginner.
Now, can we get back to proper unicycling topics like George W. Bush, religion and, er, unicycling.
