View Full Version : Is it possible that all those killed in the Holocaust are Mormons?

The Mormons have baptized over 100 million dead people, including the victims of the Holocaust.
If you don't believe in that stuff, it shouldn't matter, huh?
Is that like finding out the lady down the street has a voo doo doll of you, and she's sticking pins in it?

Yes it does, because of their intentions. If i set a bomb in a public place but it didn't go off it doesn't matter, right?

Billy the answer to your question unequivocally is yes, it doesn't matter.
And by the way, it is the Mormon belief that dead folk can be converted to their faith that has resulted in their being a major source of genealogical history.

The difference is the Mormons have good intentions...and if it does 'work', that means you get to live in Paradise for eternity. So, if you feel that it does matter you should be thanking them for ensuring you a spot in Heaven.

Mormons sometimes have baptisms for the dead, which means they baptise someone still alive but in place of someone who died without being Mormon...basically, it's so the dead person will be in Mormon Heaven instead of Mormon Hell.

This is why I'm not religious.
Although when leathering it down a mountainside on my uni, I have been known to shout out "Save me, unicycling Jesus!"
But he never answers.

That's because Jesus isn't the God of unicycling, he's the God of the universe or something like that...Kris Holm is the God of unicycling, try him next time.

Did you watch the PBS frontline/American Experience special last night?
They only baptize the dead of people who would have never known of the existance of Christ. So that they can make the decision in the afterworld to accept Christ and choose whether or not they go to Mormon hell or not.
They've also stopped baptizing Jews unless they are the family of a Jewish Mormon and it is requested by the family member.
It's all pretty goofy.

I hate to say it, but I discovered that, without consulting me, the Atheist Faith Baptism Committee has baptised EVERY MORMON into the Atheist Faith!!!!
This is getting out of hand!

(warning, this may not be 100% accurate as I don't listen very well at church seeing as how I don't quite believe it myself and I'm only 16 and have only been going to church for the last 16 years not listening very well I might add...)
ok to clarify, You know the big white castle looking buildings the mormons own?
Those are temples, we don't go to church in them every sunday(we have normal church buildings for that). We perform ordances in them such as "baptisms for the dead" which the Youth of the church do once every few months, all the 'dead people' that are baptised are actually just peopel that memebrs of the church have discovered in geneology work who weren't members of the church, if the family so choses they can sumbit the family member's information to the church who distributes it to the various temples so that people can be baptised in the name of the dead person.
The heaven and hell thing is comlicated in mormonism, there isn't just a straight up HELL and a straight up HEAVEN there are 3 degrees of glory, Celestial, Telestial, and Terestial (not sure if I spelled them right) Celestial is the highest degree of glory where ion order to get there you must live by all the rules and if you break one you must repent ASAP(basically).
Telestial is the second degree where you go if you obey most of the rules and repent most of the time.
Terestial is the third degree and you can get in there no matter what you do basically (unless you were extremely evil).
Now our take on HELL our take on Hell is basically you only go there if you are extremely evil (Hitler-like) or if you are Satan (Lucifer) himself or one of his 'Original' Followers in which case you never got a body and went straight to hell after the "war in heaven".
That's where according to our beliefs 2/3rds of the host of heaven were exiled becaue they sided with satan's plan (make sure everyone does everything right and NOBODY will ever go bad, but he wanted all the credit) instead of Jesus' plan which was to just guide people and let them have free agency and give people an 'Out' in case they sinned and give them a chance to be resurected.
Oh and instead of going straight to one of these levels when you die you wait around in a kind of 'Spirit waiting room' until judgement day where your fate is decided as to which level you are going to..... there you have it the mormon belief in the afterlife in as small and simpe of a nutshell as possible I hope I didn't bore you all to death, this took me a half hour to write........

wrong: it does not matter if you do not know, but it will if you do. the point in every sorcery trick is to make you know and behave according to social acceptance of the trick.
that sounds crazy but does reallywork!
(it is *bad* to manipulate people but, be reassured, there is nothing supernatural in sorcerers' tricks ... but they might, sometimes, work)

Yes, Mormons baptise the dead to incorporate them into their faith and get them into heaven.
This makes the Mormons happy.
It does the dead no harm at all.
It may sometimes offend the relatives of the dead, but it would be daft to react to it in an extreme way.
I can only imagine people getting seriously upset if they had conflicting religious beliefs of their own - but then they wouldn't believe in the validity of the Mormon baptism.
It's just more of the silliness so typical of organised religion.
It has produce lots of genealogical records. Great. That doesn't make it good.
Naziism did a lot to speed the development of rocket technology, thus bringing forward the era of satellites that allow us to use GPS when unicycling. That doesn't make Naziism a good thing.

From what I understand it the baptism of the dead doesn't make the person Mormon, it just gives them the option to become Mormon and go to Mormon heaven if they so decide to during the wait for judgement.
It's still a pretty goofy concept if you ask me.

Bill and Ted are true, of course, but they didn't really go to Hell. That was just a story.

they only baptise the dead person(a live person is baptised in the dead ones name ) if the family consets meaning they ask for it, the only people who get upset would be the people who are relatives of the dead person but aren't members of the church and therefor had no say.... I keep wondering if people are skipping my huge post......

I didn't baptize my son, I beleive it should be his choice when he's an adult. I found out later that his grand parents snuck him into a babtismal service when babysitting him once. I was livid.

So every member of the family has to consent, individually? There are no families with disagreements or rifts? There are no massive differences of deeply-held opinion? What amazing families. Where do I find one?

I didn't mean it to sound like that, what i meant is that the person is only baptised if a relative requests it.... I should have thought a bit harder before I put my fingers to work on the keyboard.:o

Fair dues. Maybe I shouldn't have jumped down your throat. But if you had a family like mine, you wouldn't want someone stopping them going to Hell...;)
