I just learned how to ride a unicycle in 1 day:) I almost can't believe it, as it was one of the harder things i've done at first. My friend and I had a competition going, and while she took 6 days, I did it just today. We had a distance of about 200m to ride.

How long did it take others?

I learned in pretty much 1 day aswell.

Everytime I went over to my friends house I would play around on his uni for a few minutes but never really learned to ride it, then one day I practiced for a few hours and all of a sudden I was riding down the street.

200m in one go? I think that took me about three years. No kidding. My original unicycle fell apart when I was trying to learn to make turns (after about six weeks of on and off practice). I didn't get on another unicycle until three years later. After 45 minutes on that one (a Schwinn Giraffe) I could ride more or less indefinitely. Back during the original learning period, I took one ride on a "good" unicycle, a 24" Schwinn. I think I went about 100m on my one and only try. "My" unicycle was a 16" Troxel with a solid plastic tire and a tricycle wheelset.

I spent 9 hours in one day, and I could get about 30 revs after that time.

Then it was time to come in for dinner and I fell half-asleep at the table.

took me a week to learn to ride easily. it all started in my garage.....:)

After 2 days I could ride it for 100m.
After 4 days I could ride as far as I wanted until my legs got tired, but turning wasn't easy.
After 5 days, I could turn gracefully, and ride for a long time sustained.

So basically 2 days to learn, 5 days to "perfect*"

*I use the term "perfect" VERY loosly, I'm FAR from perfect on a unicycle.

I have a friend who had never rode one before, and the first time he got on it he rode (flailing/wobblingly) about 40m.

First time on a unicycle!

it took me about 5 days to be able to ride to the end of my driveway (~100ft), and then another 4-5 days to be able to turn and go over the swale.
