That's from Braveheart, yeah? I'm pretty sure it's a title like a lord or some sort of nobleman's title. I remember discussing it in class, but that was 3 years back...

Tis from Braveheart. Robert the Bruce was the leader of the Bruce clan in Scotland. That's about all I know.

I saw that for the first time last Sunday. It was a goooood movie.
The Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_the_Bruce) article gives his dad's name as de Brus, so I think it's just one of those weird medieval name things

My ancestors were in the MacNeil Clan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clan_MacNeil). The Bruce Clan was probably more cool. What can be better than a Bruce?
