I do it by the jump, jump, jump, jump method but don't despair, I don't think
it's hard as all that. All you have to do is grip the seat real tight with your
thighs. I don't do this for too long at a stretch because it does rub rather
seriously.

I'm probably not in the best possition to answer this one as I haven't got a
husband. I would suggest just riding your unicycle around him often and let him
see how much fun it can be. There are lot of fun duo tricks you could do
together once you both learn. If he wont ride his maybe you could threaten to
give him a shoulder ride while you ride yours :-)
