luke,

you are what street riding is inspiring to become. This is what i was talking about in my "dissapointed" thread, this is the stuff that needs to be pushed, from what ive seen from this site and its videos, i feel your the best all around street rider i have seen in a long time.

wicked stuff man,

Average. Come to NZUni weekend in October if you want a free lesson in how to ride.

Damn it, I can't back that up. Great vid, awesome riding!

Wow. That was great. I love the combinations you use from fakie and normal. I think doing tricks fakie look a lot nicer than just normal. I watched the video a while ago now (few hours ago), so this may not be right, but the fakie treflip down the stair set was very impressive (was fakie tre right?). Keep it up kid, you're doing great.

DAMM! Was there even a single pre OR post hop in there?

VERRY smooth. The only other riders I can think of that is that smooth Shaun and Xav, but harder tricks:p Even they always have a few pre and/or post hops in each of their vids somewhere.

That is the first time I've seen a hop up anything directly to ww, let alone stand up ww!

skilewis74
2007-03-28, 03:44 AM
I just rewatched "Team Insomnia" and you didn't do any pre/post hops in there eather, but your riding has improved since then:cool:

Edit: you did pause in that one sometimes though, but not in this one:D

With vids like this one, we should really make the effort of making our comments on youtube coz then it will get into the "most discussed" lists and then millions of people will marvel at it.

Why hasn't the record been broken yet? Treyflip 5 has been around for too long. If you can catch them early go do a 6.

Awesome riding, I saw a lot of impractical tricks in there, but cool none the less. (Hickflip up the three). Nicely done beating the 180lateflip record.

Aussie riders are so good because they can ride year round. They don't have winter down there. lol. The do complain about the heat, though I'd like to see them ride in -15C. lol. I'd rather ride in extreme heat than extreme cold.

The spring break video was poor for skill trust me. Please don't compare a video of effort to a vid of fun.

-Shaun Johanneson

p.s. One more thing, please tell your filmer to learn how to film. Get closer, move more, and get better lighting. You can't see much there.

Luke Collalto
2007-03-28, 08:40 PM
Thanks for the comments everyone. I don't think I deserve a lot of them.

Shaun...

Although I can catch treys early, when I ride up to a six I freeze. I'll get over it eventually. I put it in cause I've been saying I'd done it for ages, plus it's nice to see.

I don't know why a hick up a 3 is "impractical", lol.

Although the weather isn't as bad as there, it still does rain a lot. I only ever ride on weekends and I cant drive to spots like you.

Thanks again everyone.

Nice video, really good riding. Leaving me way behind now...

Was that a doubleback I saw? Was really far away, at 34 seconds.

Nice vid, caught trey was nice. Liked the blind trey, then the treyback, that was the sex.

Mike

Edit: Shaun mate, that was late, you can see the flick.

Luke Collalto
2007-03-28, 10:09 PM
Thanks Mike. I didn't know if anyone would notice those tricks.

That was a double not a double back, sorry about the filming.

Late or not, that was still a personal best.

I'm off to school now.

Goodbye.

Wow that was amazing.

the trey down the five was very clean and the set look wide to

That double looked like a double back but still nice

great 450 really nice!

Awesome video. I'm really liking the Tre backflip and that Inward fakieflip down the 2 set. I also don't see how you can do all those tricks with that much flow.

Any tips for the tre backflips? Easier/harder then tre fakieflips?

What are you joking? Most tricks are impractical.

At least with the cold you can always dress warmer. With the heat, you can only do so much to keep kool, w/o being in an airconditioned room.

I'm glad I live in a moderate climate:p

Isn't unicycling impractical?

I have to agree with shaun on this one however. I'd give anything for 80+ degree weather. The cold sucks..it slows down your body.

id rather ride in extreme cold than heat.

when i went down and rode with luke it was like 42C that was stinking hot.

Thanks Jeff.

I think trey fakieflips are easier, but that might just be because I learned them first. As for tips just learn them static and be able to trey/hick back easily.

u me and max were both still trying to learn crankflips haha! WHAT? Luke had to LEARN crankflips! i thought you could do them the day you got your unicycle.

Luke = Australia's best rider
sorry Tomsey but i havent seen much of you so how could i compare.

he probably can't ride a skinny like andrew carter can

probably can't do trials like kevin can.

From what I've seen I think Dan Cowling is the world's best ledge and rail grinder... he's got lots of flip tricks, more experience than Luke and a tendancy to do dangerous stuff. I guess Luke probably goes the biggest with the flips these days and sideways ww counts for a lot in my book, and I think (judging how he can string several tech moves together) he's pretty consistant which would count for a lot in a competition.

From what I can make of the online vids, one of Luke's biggest weaknesses is hopping up big stuff to rubber. which I think is pretty important for an accomplished street rider, not just trials.

Without a doubt Luke has the most potential (15??) but I think is still maybe (just maybe) beatable by some. It'd be good to see a street comp with Xav, SJ, Kevin M, Tomsey & the Australians, the mini Xavs from France and ... Joe Dyson, Peter VB and muzzle. Kiwis ftw.

If each country was allowed a 3 man team for street, who do you think would win? And who'd represent?
