Cannot upload a video to the gallery

I've been spending several hours trying to upload a 39Mb video to the gallery without success.

I've tried the "upload applet". It uploads completely, only to come back with this meaningless error...Upload error: Upload failed: "....and checking the page where the video is meant to go... there's nothing uploaded.

I've also tried the "from web page" uploading from my local web server. It only seems to download a small part of the video before the "from web page" re-appears again. Again, nothing uploaded at all.

And I've also tried the "from web browser" form. That seems to upload the entire video and reports success...

...except all options that say things like "Edit video" actually say "Edit unknown". Trying to view the movie results in a "Download unknown" link where the video should be. And if I do download it, only about 5Mb of the video actually downloads. Every time.


Am I doing something wrong, or is it a fault? I know 39Mb is a lot, but it does say "you can upload 128Mb at a time", doesn't it?

And I've also tried the "from web browser" form.I've just tried the "web browser" form again. The browser sent everything but the webpage responded with a rather vague "An error has occurred while interacting with the platform."

There's still no sign of any video in where I'm trying to put it!

Tried to upload a much smaller 1.2Mb video using both the "from web browser" and the Java options. Same symptoms happened.

I am having similar results uploading a picture. I have not tried a video clip yet.

I get the same error as the first post when I try to upload either an mpg or jpg. I also see these errors when I open the gallery:
