I think they were flexible plastic tubes covered in foam rubber pipe insulation and wrapped in colored electrical tape. I’ve heard some people use pool sticks with cut a tennis ball on the end. That sounds a little rough for me.

Here’s my latest video. I just got my first trials and put a lot of side hop failure at the beginning. Anyone got tips? It’s juggling in the middle and some more uni at the end.

Try to keep your pedal pressure even on the take-off and don't land so upright. All the force from your jump is just bouncing you right off the uni. If you look at a lot of videos of people side hopping they almost never are perfectly upright when they land, that way they can absorb some of the force from the jump better. If you watch in the video below even though it's seat in front hopping the concept is the same. Landing upright after moving forward will shoot you upwards, you want to absorb the sideways force by landing at an angle so when all the force dissipates you're in an upright position and ready to ride away.

quite frankly, i don't think the police would give a crap about anything he said or did. he gave them clear and straightforward instructions, repeatedly, constantly, which were ignored and refused. there are obviously clear cuts in the video, so without knowing what was missed, the first obscene action was what the guy said to that one kid who appears to be refusing to leave. at the same time another joker is pretending to hump the old guy. the police shouldn't really care that the old guy is completely crass towards anyone in the gang at any time as he'd told them to leave and it appears at least one of them has chosen to 'man up' and refuse, and all of them are acting 'tough' (lol) and having their own little digs and whatnot. punks.

if you are on property i have been given the right to represent, and i tell you to get off my property and you don't... it's fair game, and game on. you don't stuff around giving me shit, you get the hell off my property. IMMEDIATELY!

i saw no physical acts that i wouldn't condone from the old guy, except towards the end where he kicked (or was it throw?) a water bottle or something at one of them, but again this is clearly after a large cut in the tape and who knows what bullshit the kids had pulled for who knows how long in the cut section.

people think that because they are in a public place they can't be ejected, and they are wrong. just because you are in public doesn't mean you have the right to any / all public property. as soon as your right has been taken away, then that's that. you get the hell off the property. hell, idiots even argue with the police when the police give them clear instructions. idiots just like to 'man up'.

punk little shits like this don't belong in australia... the guy was right in that part... he was wrong however to single-out a foreign-appearing kid in particular. no one should agree with that, IF THIS IS HIS ACTUAL TRUE FEELINGS. however, as an offensive tactic i agree with his obscenities. psychological warfare at play. it's better to keep the gang distracted with perversions and let them argue about how disgusting he is being and perhaps consider him a slightly loose wire, than to give them time to seriously consider 'manning up' and getting physical with him. it's better for the guy to give them all a verbal fight that they will gladly take, then let them weigh the pro's and con's of physically fighting him. like a magician... keep them distracted while you work right in front of their unknowing eyes.

if i was the police and i saw that tape i'd be telling the kids to stay the hell away from that place, and they are lucky none of them in particular was filmed committing any crimes and that the old guy didn't rip any of them a new ear. (and then i'd be having a little chat with the old guy to see if he's a complete bigot or loose wire, and coaching him on alternate possible actions to take in the situation he was in to better-handle the situation if it should occur again in the future).

bah, i can already see people completely disagreeing with everything i might say... but whatever. before i give anyone a chance to shoot me down i'll ask you this... have you ever been in a situation ALONE where you had to 'handle' a group of people (or even a single person) who could potentially be a moment away from violence towards you? I've worked as a security officer, so MY answer and credibility should be clear.

yeah i didn't want to assume since i don't know for sure. still doesn't matter to me. punks were skating around a church and he told them to leave. if the film only showed them leaving immediately and without being the wise-ass punks they were, and the priest behaved how he did still, and there was no film cutting... then sure the priest is a complete tool and beyond.

but that's hardly how it went down.

i don't much like skaters. i probably wouldn't really care if they weren't so goddamn loud, but they are. it also doesn't help any that the skaters you hear are also usually idiots, and the gang mentality magnifies it. the skaters might be having a blast, but everyone around them is being subjected to harsh irritating sounds from the boards and probably from the riders too. not to mention any wiseguys doing stunts that might endanger people. them skating outside a church isn't much different to a bunch of dirt-bikes messing-around outside, or a bunch of mothers all with crying babies that won't stop, or a pagan group chanting some rubbish, and so on etc.

if anyone has ever had a new house being built next to where they live they'll completely understand the 'fun' that experience is. even more-so when unwell. same with having abcdhead neighbours who love blasting their music every single day late into the night. skaters riding nearby is often the same experience.

just for some perspective (and i'm certainly not suggesting this is what happened) let's all imagine from about 30mins before the start of the film we are seeing inside the church. what are we seeing? hmm, looks like a wedding... or hmm, looks like a funeral. whichever. the respective ceremony is occurring, and for the entire next half-hour all you can hear is the distracting, grating, unwelcome sound of skateboards and their riders coming from outside. the priest has had enough and goes outside to tell these idiots to get lost. cue the film as we saw it...

... insert in the parts where the film cuts-away... some of the punks do further dry-humping motions towards the priest, spit on / towards him, threaten to hit him with their skateboards, pretend to be about to hit him with their skateboards, threaten to damage the church in the future etc (all of this i would consider to be more likely to have actually happened than not).

no matter what did or didn't happen before or during the ejection, the simple fact is they were told to leave and they didn't make that a priority. they had no further right to be there. regardless of whatever the priest said they needed to gtfo, and whatever manhandling the priest actually did i see as fully justified both morally and legally.

people think they can just go wherever and do whatever they like. entitlement ruins society.

edit : oh, and yes he's the priest but that's NOT the thing. the thing is he's a PERSON... just like everyone else.
