I love the game Dead Rising. It's so much fun!
my favorite weapons are as follows: Katana and/or sword, Sickle, Excavator, Lawnmower, Shotgun, Shower Head, Fire Ax, Chainsaw, Propane Tank & Firearm Combo, Soccor Ball, and Car/Motorcycle. To find out what each one does, Post the name of the weapon with a question mark. i.e. Sickle?

I'm gonna change the meaning of this thread into asking people what their favorite weapons are in general.

I'm gonna say the sword. No weapon is so simple, yet so freakin awesome if handled correctly.

I hate you. But while we're on it, I'd have to say a mace. A nice heafty steel ball with two inch spikes all over it, and a good sturdy handle. I'm not talking ball and chain, just a heavy death orb with a handle to swing it.

According to the D and D Player's Handbook, a flail is a what people typically think of when they hear the word "mace"; the ball and chain thing. What you're describing, Sam, is actually a morningstar, with the big spikes mounted on a metal ball with a handle. A mace is more like this:

personally i like the H&K 416, i wish the US Army would pony up and give these to all of their soldiers. Fighting in the desert with an M4 or an M16 doesnt work

musketman

Yes, but the .50 BMG works....at 1.5 miles:D

But really, the M16 is pretty old, and are phrone to jamming from dirt. they were used in Vietnam...so yeah, pretty old. The M4 is more like the newer version of the M16.

Did you guys know our future U.S. soldiers are going to be invisible? The technology is coming! Ive read lots about it. Pretty kewl stuff coming out that's going to change the future of war.

Alot of guys use the M249 Machine gun now.

Hunting/Shooting sure is fun! I love it when the first shot rings out through the quiet woods. I actually shot my .22 rifle today. I was trying to hit these crows way way far over there. Didn't hit them of course, but it's still fun to shoot the gun!

lol, I have a story similiar to that.

It was like 5:00 a.m. and I was up in the blind after putting fresh apples and corn out. It was still dark so I couldn't see anything. when it got light enouph to see, the bait pile was all gone! The deer were also gone! lol, They came while it was dark, and ate it all!

OK guys please don't give the anti-hunting people more ammo by making light of killing. As for the 243, its not my idea of a good deer rifle, more for coyotes and possibly antelope but i guess you guys have tinny deer down there. I use a Remington Model 700 chambered to 7mm08.

I mostly Use an old K98 8mm Mauser. A .243 is a good gun. Its not about power as much as shot placement. Ive seen a .243 take down huge cows that had diseases that had to be removed from the herd. And Ive seen a 30-30 lever action take out Grizzlies. 7-08 mm is a nice caliber. On the larger side, good for anything really. I personally like the .308. Its a very accurate/powerfull round, and the recoil isn't that bad.

Clik, clik, Boom!

On those Saturdays,
when kids go out and play,
yo I was VP in my room I let the stereo blaze,
wasn't faded,
not jaded,
just a kid with a pad and pen and a big imagination.
All this,
I seek,
I find I push the envelope to the line,
make it,
break it,
take it,
until I'm overrated.

Click, Click Boom.
I'm coming down on the stereo,
hear me on the radio,
click, click boom.
I'm coming down with the new style and you know it's buck wild.
Click, Click Boom
I'm on the radio station touring round the nation,
leaving the scene in devastation.

you are absolutely right that shot placement is much more important than calibre. i pride myself in being a good shot. when i was twelve i wounded a deer, i ended up shooting it again after 4 hours of tracking. i decided i would not make a bad shot on a deer again. I took a bunch of lead bars and casted 100 bullets and loaded up some rounds (under my dads supervision). those were shot off after two days so i made more. I practiced shooting every week until it got to cold. since i moved to the city i cant shoot as much but i still like to shoot quite a bit to stay practiced. after that first year i have never made a bad shot on dozens of deer.

I would not call the 7mm-08 on the larger side for deer but our deer are quite large. my little bro shot a deer that dressed out to 220 lbs, it was massive.

as for the .308 i think it is the most versatile cartridge out there for north American big game

Yes a 243 is fine if you aim but i hope that you are talking out of your a$$ when talking about the .22. perhaps the law is different in the States but up here it is illegal to "hunt big game with a firearm or metal projectile of .23 calibre or less" there are hundreds of moose shot every year with a .22 but that does not make it a suitable gun for that purpose.

wickedbob
2007-03-16, 05:18 AM
