I think that we should be allowed to have pictures in our signature as long as it fits the size requirment. What do you guys think?

I don't want stupid pictures to scroll through, I am already thinking of turning off signatures. I hate scrolling for ten screens just to pass a signature, which isn't even a signature, it's like fifty quotes.

Hahahahaha, pictures used to be allowed in signatures...you guys shoulda been here when they were taken away, some funny stuff happened...basically, some people complained that signature images are bad so Gilby took 'em away, but then ObieOne and Catboy proved that there are some things worse than pictures in signatures....

Even without picutres a lot of the signatures on here are big and annoying.
A signature is supposed to be just a couple of lines. And it should NEVER be longer than the content of your post.
I think quote boxes shouldn't be allowed in signatures either cause they just take up more space.

2007-02-18, 03:15 AM
does it really matter how long a signature is?
sure it takes another 1.3 seconds to scroll past, but really is that so bad?
is every moment of your life you spend so extremely important than you cant spend a few seconds just scrolling past a singature?
there's much worse things happening right no, the length of a signature is the least of your worries.

I think quote boxes shouldn't be allowed in signatures either cause they just take up more space.I agree with that, and there's at least one user on this page who has a signature that proves that you don't need quote boxes to quote people.just think of all those people with dialup and how long it would take to load a page filled with picturesHmmm, are there any people left in the world who use dialup? I certainly don't know any...

i like to logg on with dial-up every now and then and re-live my highschool years. you know, try to research an essay or study photographers etc..

I don't like grilled cheese sandwiches...but I want to try making one by ironing it, sometime, like they did in Benny and Joon.

You obviously don't live in the country. I'm lucky that my nearest village gets broardband, and thus I do, but lots of people still can't get broardband.

my home town still doesent have high speed, In this province we may have one of the most advanced fiber optic phone line systems in the world but 30% of the population still cant get high speed internet. ironic eh?

Yes indeed, a friend of mine lives in a development of i think 2,000 houses, all built in the last few years, average value something like 400k, only half a mile from town and yet they can't get broadband and probably never will, they;re just too far from the exchange.

I know people that don't even have a computer
I can't even imagine that, we have 5 computers in my house
and no, pictures in signatures would be annoying, big signatures are already annoying
Be happy with what you have, put a picture in ur avatar

That's right snobs, some people are still stuck with dial-up. But that aside, I think one "automatic" picture that shows up in every post you make is enough. If you're tired of it, switch out your avatar image.

30% of the population of Saskatchewan eh? That's really not very many people;) (I was in a debate over whether to put in a smiley there since I meant it as kind of a joke, but it's very true statement at the same time).
When you look at the percentage of the population of SK that lives in or near really really small towns, it's pretty impressive that it's only 30% that doesn't have high speed internet. Besides, in that province there's a good chunk up north there that relies on satellites for communication and will probably never see even dial-up internet over a land line.
What do they think of pictures in signatures?
I voted no with my high speed connection. I too am opposed to quote boxes in sigs.

I believe he said 30% can't get high speed internet. Which means they wouldn't be able, even if the wanted to. It doesn't mean that the other 70% all have optical fibre connection in their outhouse.
The least people with text-heavy signatures can do is to make it all in the smallest font-size.
Which is 1.
Just add [size=1] at the top and the same, but with a "/" between the "[" and the "size".
It will make the sig just a touch more managable.
I was on the fence during the whole 'no pics in sigs' episode. I used to have Kenny in my sig and moved him to my avatar after that.
Now that we've had pic-less sigs for a while, I'm totally in favour of them and wouldn't like to see a return to pics.
When I scroll thru other fora where they allow pic-sigs, I'm reminded of how irritating it actually is.
I would much rather ask Gilby to consider allowing animated avatars again.

You obviously don't live in the country.BZZZZZT! Wrong! As of this month I live on the outskirts of Midhurst in West Sussex, and one of my housemates has organised a full 8Mb ADSLmax connection. And it works.
Plus, rob.northcott says he has broadband even in the middle of the wilderness that is Dartmoor, Princetown to be exact. And even my Dad's place somewhere in deepest Suffolk, where he sees a BT van next to a telegraph pole at least once a fortnight, has broadband available. Are you serious? I know people who still don't have any internet access. That's probably their choice.

I don't remember if he did or if Catboy and Obie decided they had proved their point and changed back...I do remember that their signatures lasted way longer than I thought they would have.

Those are some really nice moving pictures James Potter. :D Me liking very much. I still think regardless of what people think. That the pictures could include short clips of people/members on this forum tricks/stunts/etc. So yeah i'm all up for it. ;) ;) Plus if they want to list their shops name/location or unicycle shop or even their clubs name/team. That could also be their signature picture. :D :D

Beats me, I prefer Open Bar.
Regarding SeXy_Booty876's avitar: There's one good reason for less pics, especially in sig lines. I haven't seen anything that cheeky since Glutes was around here and Glutes had better taste.
