I loved it. Nice editing and awesome riding. It was also nice to see Xav's riding again. That roll hop was Huge! Anyway, a well-balanced video, there were no "dull" sections, which is unbelievable considering the length. :) Keep up the good work! Make a lot more videos in the future!

I'd suggest Frogs to be re-compressed, with a lesser picture quality but leading to a smaller file, for those who don't have a very high speed Internet access and/or experience trouble when downloading such large files.
Or maybe some kind of data streaming ?

You can put longer clips on youtube with the director account, its free etc...
I think the videos can be as long as you want them to be after that, maybe?
olarf
2007-01-30, 03:38 PM
and youtube can use your video than for what ever they like to do with it.
They can use it commercial and the owner got no cent from it or they can use it for Promote Products you dislike ...............
For sure it is a nice Service that YouTube offers but everybody who use it should be clear what he do and in the case of Defect we all can see how difficult it is to remove a video from there.

FLAT OUT AMAZING!!
Definately better street vid than Defect, making it THE BEST STREET VID MADE!
It's soooooo long and sooooo many huge and unusual tricks, I can't remember them all. :D  :D A few I can remember are the seat in back wheel hop down the stairs, 360 down that 8 set, on wheel crankflip @ 16:03(is that what it's called?), the combo uni hand-off, and Team Uni:p @ 22:00
I'm going to have to watch it a couple douzen more times!:D :D

More technically progressed street riding, yes. "Better" street vid than defect? No way.

One reason why it may be "Better", in my opinion, is there is so much more streat riding, and by more riders.

Loved the vid, make another one. Really liked it, especially the 360 over that gap in Remi's section. Remi can 360 very good. Every part rocked, Manu's full varialflip was awesome.
Mathieu Belot has improved A LOT since UNICON, hope I get to see him again, I need to throw paint on him and get him back proper.
One thing that stood out was the 360 down the 8 set....It's awesome, but the seat looks a little far back.
AWESOME VIDEO GUYS!

It was a great street vid. Defect had a lot more tricks in it though. This vid had a lot of the same thing (don't comment on the flips I do please, those aren't repeat tricks), I saw a lot of D.H.'s flatland tricks in there by more than one person, a lot of 540 unispins, and too many hops. It had great tricks in it no doubt, I just think that some of the best French riders need to know how a person that looks for perfection in there "filmed" riding (trust me, without a camera, i'm extremely sketchy) sees there lines. I just think a lot of the things could have been filmed (attempted) to be better. I liked a lot of the music in it for sure, that's a good style, works well. I didn't like that the 8 set 360 wasn't played completely through. Did he fall? That would be a record 3 set clear, but if he fell, it's no good. If he did fall I would like to see it, since then it would look more like he had the balls to do it, and he was honest, rather than you guys trying to trick us that he did it. (I did it with the doubleflip 6 in macht nada, but you soon saw afterwards, I fell all times, and broke my seat post). The 7 set too, he clipped the last stair... Really sick flips to seat in, looks good. I'm happy someone learned the fullvarialflip, I haven't tried it down anything yet, but will soon. Hopefully I have someone to sess that with me over the next few months. Last things, the big/huge spins. Don't hop before it, takes away the street of it, and makes it freestyle. Since you aren't really body twisting 180, more like 45-90, since you hop to 90 first. I don't think that's really legit enough. I'ld count a 90 degree turn in, more than a 90 degree hop in, But aim for only 45 degrees. That's my spiel, probably hated, but like I said. I don't like ot settle. I'll keep doing difficult lines over and over, until there is one hop in them at the most. It's time to start making these hard tricks harder. It's one thing to do a sick line, it's way better to do it clean.

Great video! The maps are interesting to see where the places are.
Unispins at beginning is cool intro. 560s?
Credit following wheel.. nice edit.
I like how you pretty much just show one trick per scene... nice variety of locations. Particularily interesting to see European scenes.
Locations for tricks I liked:
6:26 360 down stairs
8:45 wheel hop down stairs
13:14 - 110 cm crank grab
14:04 uni tossing scene to scene – cool transition
18:44 – 1 foot on crank, other walks wheel ˝ turn forward
22:20 unispin to seat drop… accident?
The worst thing is the size/length. Maybe it could be broken into 6 smaller segments. Or edit it down... if its less than 10 minutes, it can go on youtube.

Hi,
I was quite waiting for your comments Shaun. Your post is long, it shows you gave importance to it but with some spaces it could be more readable.
I like the way your research of perfection makes you see the sport.
I agree with you about the big/huge spin tricks. Some of them are not legit enough to be called like that. Their names shouldn't have been written.
Too many hops to. Ok, given the time we allowed to ourselves after the first shot was filmed, and the level of the tricks we wanted to show, we are mostly satisfied with the result. Some tricks are sketchy but we thought they were worth watching. The idea was more to entertain with quite high skills. We didn't have the means to be technically perfect like your part in Ill for instance if we wanted to respect the deadline.
Remi did land the 360 on the 8set cleanly, i don't know why it is cut here. I think it appears totally in another vid of him. That's almost the only scene already published. At first he didn't want to show it again but it was so sick that there were no other way. As he twisted his rim trying it, he didn't want to film it once more.
I am not sure of the meaning of "to sess" when speaking about the fullvarialflip. If you are talking to me, i sure will try it off something in the next months. ;)

I don't know if I must enjoy shaun's comment or not...
On the one hand: Maybe some tricks landed before, maybe the 8 set 360 wasn't played completely, maybe the huge spin weren't one, maybe the vid was too long, and i want to tell you thanks for these remarks, we 'll try to do better next time. But on an other hand, i don't really like how you try to disparage the vid. Why don't you speak about new tricks which were landed as the 5 set trey flip, xav's tricks, the 5 set double flip ...
It's not a competition, just an international passion ! So Sorry If the vid wasn't perfect, thanks for your remarks (really) and see you soon on the fluck !!
(PS:Don't think that this post is negative, just something to restart this sport as a passion and not a competition)
(PS 2: Sorry for my english)
Where can I find the other video from the 360 guy?

This was awesome!!
Long movie, but I watched it 3 times the day I downloaded it. The 360 downs those sets looked beautiful. The riding had a good fun flow, and it went well. Not once was I bored with the riding, the editing, or the music.
Keep making them like this, your doing perfect!

Sorry, i have to hange my statement.
I have been confirmed that Remi did fall after the landing of the 360. And i haven't found the other video yet.
@Luke:
No doubt, IMHO you are a great treyflipper and set the record of 5 set. The idea of Arthur was more to say that these tricks are not new but rather unusual.
I hope you will enjoy the vid

Hey I didn't mean to offend at all. Just trying to push the best riders even more by the audience never being satisfied (trust me I get that a lot with my vids, they're never perfect). 5 set trey was ballsy, but he bounced, I didn't like seeing that, it was cool he landed it. Xav has also doen a trey 5, but they're old news. I'm waiting on the first six. Double 5, is also ballsy, but not that great. Once doubles are caught early, 7s 8s won't be hard. I'm not so into big tricks as the super tech. Good good stuff, but some of the best riders need to make this perfect to set themselves out even more. If there was a deadline, then I understand. I perfer quality over quantity though. I don't mean to be negative, or insulting. It was awesome riding. For sure surprising, just never settle.

Awesome video, really entertaining. I was glued to the screen the whole time. I really liked the 5th flips and Manu's tricks to seat in. Trey-ing a 5 without catching early is gutsy, and you did it smooth Loic.
Shaun was right about striving for perfection. Just one to many hops can ruin a line in my opinion.
Overall it was really good.
