Movie Maker is perfectly good enough for making unicycling movies. I haven't used anything else, but WMM seems very useful for what it does. It's easy to organize clips, and to add in simple effects/music. Granted, it does have an incredible amount of extraneous stuff that no one uses, but that's Windows, what do you expect?
Gollum, Timmy, and uni.rider, why do you use/want the programs you do? Are they really that much better? If they are, why?

iMovie really is that much better becuase its easy to use and you can organize the clips add new ones make titles ad chapters, effects, and sound effects. Once your done its really easy to make it into an awsome dvd. iMovie and iDVD are both really simple and easy to use becuase i learned both without anyone teaching me or using any instructions.

Yea, iMovie and iDvd work so nicely together. They are both incredibly easy to use and give you an awesome finished product.

So basically the same as WMM? WMM is very user-friendly, and its finished product is just as good.

Except that your forgeting that microsoft sucks. Duh, man you need to wake up. Okay im not responding to this anymore. iMovie is way better and it doesnt really matter any way becuase youll never believe me and will never even try it.
Edit: the microsoft comment was in a joking manner and the rest wasnt that serious i just perfer mac and Know that you will never try it.

I tried Imovies, and to me, it was the exact same as WMM.
What it did was the same, and it was just as simple, and worked equally as well.

I have used windows movie maker, vegas 5 and premiere pro 7. WMM was easy to use and quick, but I found it really simplistic (I don't and can't get service pack 2). Vegas 5 is my favourite of the three, but its still a pain to do some things. Premiere pro is my least favourite, it has tons of snappy little effects you can put in but really I don't think its that great, but maybe thats cause I don't know how to use it.

I use premiere now which is much better than movie maker which is a very bad program (although easy to use). Its not as easy to use but gives a better finish and if you combine it with adobe after effects (the special fx add on prog) you can get some decent results. Can be a bit of an arse to learn it though as it can do quite a lot.

The schtupid movie maker is so fussy about its formats to import and does not encode the movies so they get smaller. Besides: It usually uses up a hell lot of cpu power.

I've used iMovie and WMM, and theyre not much different. iMovie has an upper hand though. But, its not substantial enough to matter really.

wmm always made my comp freeze so I saved up for adobe premier and it's great. It's alot more advanced than wmm and there are more options.

I've found that I like imovie MUCH better than Windows Movie Maker. I've used imovie more, but there are a lot of things I've found you can't do with the windows program, like extracting audio, and adding music from itunes, which is really annoying.
I've found that the quality of the video is much better on imovie too, but that might have been because I have to import to wmm with usb rather than firewire, I don't know.
Overall I like the mac program better.

Yeah, USB is the worst way to do it. I use a a video input/TV tuner PCI card. You connect the AV cables to it and it's connected to your computer. Firewire on the other hand is the best.

USB cable can't trasfer data (ex: the video) in as high of quality as FireWire can. USB is good for smaller files though, thats why it is widely used. FireWire though, because of its high quality transfer is ideal for video.

You can extract audio with WMM. As for the Itunes thing. I hate it, make it seem like when I put my music on my comp, it controls it, not me.
Luckily, I use windows, so All my music files are easily used on WMM. No hassle what-so-ever. My comp also never freezes when im using WMM.
Of course the firewire video is gonna be higher quality than the USB. Thats the uploading fault, no mac/pc fault. I use usb when im taking pictures off a camera, but when its video, is always gonna be a Firewire.

You actually can add music from iTunes to your WMM project. Just go to My Documents (your on windows) and find My Music. Then open your iTunes directory, and find the song you want. Drag it out to the desktop and right click it. Select "convert to..." and then you can change it into a file type that WMM will read. You can also upload songs from CD's and those are usually in a format that WMM can use. You can just upload them directly into your WMM project.
Also, whenever I'm uploading stills or video to my computer, I do it through the SD memory card port in my computer. I think that only comes with my Windows XP media edition though...

Oh brother. You guys need to read some actual product reviews, written by people who know how to compare two pieces of software. They're all over the Web. A good review will tell you what features one has that the other doesn't, which are easier to use, and which ones are faster. Between Mac and Windows there are limitations on what all you can compare, but these are getting less and less now that both OSes can run on the same hardware.
Someday I will start playing with video editing, but I haven't really done any yet. I know I'll start with iMovie because I already have it, and I've read it is much easier to work with than WMM (which I will also have by then). If I find I need more features, I'll work my way up from there.
