Its all pretty simple, Flipping is when you fold down the front to take a piss, flapping is self explanatory, you use the flap...and snaking is the single most uncomfortable thing you could ever do, snaking through a pair of whitey tighties

Okay, Fuller didn't do a very good job explaining or give credit to where this discussion originates. Firstly, this topic came up on a ski bus (hours on end with nothing to do) as a result of who knows what... Anyway, we managed to move onto this topic and the discussion surrounding it lasted for quite some time. I think we may have been discussing something like the concept of vestigal features, and somehow progressed to this concept on boxer shorts...
So, among the group discussing this, none of us used this flap, except on rare occaisions (belts,etc) and we deemed the concept of using this flap to be outdated and past it's heyday, back when boxers were invented. We brought this discussion up to many other members of the team/other teams to see where they stand on the issue. There was a heavy majority towards non-flap-usage, though we were surprised to find that some people we had assumed would have normal flipping tendencys, indeed flap. There were others of course whom we expected to flap, and a certain person to remain unnamed even went so far as to say that with sweatpants (no flap) he, uses the boxer flap. So, to sum up this very strange little explanation, Fuller has apparently decided that he wants to pose this question to a larger audience to see the results....

Also, I challenge you flippers (the majority) to try flapping just once and see what it's like. It could turn your world upside-down.

You're not taking off your pants...at least I'm not. You just fold down the elastic, whip it out over the fold, and do your business.

The only reason I dont use the flap on the front of my boxers is because of the button that is really annoying and when you have to go u dont wanna waste time trying to undo it. Thats why I flip

I know what you mean about the button..but what you do, is unbutton it at the start of the day, or cut the button off. It serves no purpose..just slows down the urination process and its like a blockade for girls.

Hah yeah when I was really little I did that once too, needless to say I have never done it again. Its the kind of thing you don't repeat if you value your junk.

I'm more of a super flipper. I tend to drop my pants as low as the surroundings alow me to (not for urinals obviously), its much more free, and a little airation never hurt. It can't be a great thing to keep yourself all packaged up all the time.

I'll admit that I snake on the rare occasion when I'm wearing shorts that don't hang down to my knees, but I'm mainly a flipper.

Using the flap is like trying to catch a snake while wearing a blindfold. Damn snake always gets away from me. Such a hassle!

I once cought my sack in the zip, needless to say i lost a little blood. Although luckily i was a bit to intoxicated to feel the pain and it didn't hit me till i woke up the next morning (maybe not lucky).

as for flip/flap/snake. I confess to the odd snake, but i admit, as meastro did, that every now and then the snake does get away and we all know how hard it is to stop mid-miturate (like trying to stop water going out the house by squeezing it).

I generally work a combo, with a boxer flap and a trouser flip, 180 fakie of course.

OK, so I'm a littler late on the reply to this thread, but flipping is definatly the way to go on this issue. Flapping just takes too much time, and there is always the fear of the zipper of doom. I don't think I've snaked once in my life, flapping is acceptable, but snaking...no way. And for those of you who don't know, another term for snaking is threading then needle...

Da Dufus didn't do a very good job making this thread. It was MY idea in the first place, and he hasn't given me any credit. He used the term snaking, which is NOT the orriginal name for the process, that would be threading the needle. Also, to clarify completely flaping is using the flap in boxers, and threading the needle/snaking is going through the multiple folds of whity tighties.

Whe don't have a name for the pulling-up-the-leg one yet, maybe bypassing the system?

Back when I was a young tot and my dad was still teaching me how to take a piss in a urinal I used to snake through the tighty whities, time passed on and my appendage grew to big to snake through that damn little hole and I switched to flipping, from there I switched to Boxers. From there habit carried through and I still flip the boxers and flap the jeans.

P.S. I was a little confused, are you guys that flip also flipping down the pants or just the undies?

I always were breifs, I have tried boxers a few times but I think it just feels as if your not wearing them, breifs keep your kit more sucure so it doesnot flap around :D and away from your legs so that they dont get as hot sweaty and even sticky, basicly breifs are better
