The mantra continues..."Happy wife, happy Life!"
We did some early Christmas shopping tonight. We had lined it up earlier at a local store, K's Merchandise, who is going out of business soon. They've got every thing marked down so we made the move to some new furniture, our first in some 16 years. Mary has been wanting some new pieces for our living room for ages but finances just wouldn't allow it. But the time is finally here!
We bought three Ashley brand pieces, all chocolate-brown leather with recliners at each end of the love seat and sofa, and the matching glider/rocker/recliner chair. All for a grand price including tax of $2300.00. They also offered free delivery but with a truck and a trailer and lots of muscle at home, we didn't want to wait.
Our living room is not arranged by any means in the photo. The pieces are just sitting until we have a chance this weekend to make some changes. Man, are they nice! Can't wait to doze off in one of them. :)

Looks like plenty of sleeping room for visiting unicyclists. Hey, I may pass through there on the way home from Ontario.

Nice. Even the dog fits into the overall colorscheme.

Pure "Mammoth Dung Style" :p
(Sorry this is a french pun: it is a reference to a comics "Gaston Lagaffe" where the hero designs lot of crazy things .... including very comfy armchairs ... that are his boss deprecative comments on the Style! and since the comics' armchairs resemble yours I could not resist:rolleyes:
twist in the story: the armchairs were very comfortable because they were stuffed with urgent paperwork!)

You're welcome any time. You'll just have to put up with drinking Aldi rootbeer. It's just not the same as Thomas Kemper, you know.

Except that the huge flat panel TV that supports video gaming that Ben had all picked out will have to wait. We're sort of out of money now. Ben's prioritys were different. He was all for sitting on the old furniture if it meant hanging that nice new telly on the wall.
Sorry, Bennie-boy. Parental votes trump kids votes. :)

Enjoy Bruce.
Raphael,
Should we call Ms. Ayelery about the use of commas? Or should we all enjoy Bruce?
I do.
Nice move, Bruce. Be sure to post the final room photo, when you get it arranged.

I quite enjoy Mary in the presence of her new furniture. She's cute when she's giddy. We had visits from two different set of folks tonight. We yelled from our reclined positions for them to come in because we didn't want to get up.
It's going to be tough to photo the room when I'm reclined in my chair.

That's what kids are for. And whie they're at it, tell them to bring you something from the fridge, cuz you don't want to get out of your recliner.

Not much different but it's somehow more cozy this way. For some reason, it took us quite awhile and many furniture moves around the room to come up with this. The red container is Baxter's toy box.
Mary's pretty proud of it. It's very important to her to have a nice presentable living room when visitors arrive.

Okay.
Even though it's leather, Mary calls the chair my "Vinyl Resting Place".

I came home from church today with every intention of getting some things done around the house. But I made the mistake of sitting down in the chair for "just a moment". I ended up dozing for an hour and a half.
