The woes of an Internet-less Dave...

Hey, guys...

My internet service provider went bust! How much does that suck!

One day I was merrily using the internet, the next I couldnt get online! And that was like a month ago. A new ISP company picked up where the last one left off and gave me a temporary dial-up account today to use while they fix up the ADSL line with Telstra. (sigh) A month without the internet...

Anyway, thats it for the complaining. Just thought i'd say g'day.

A sudden unexpected loss of internet for a month :eek:
That's the stuff of nightmares.
Wake up in the morning and suddenly no internet.

I had an ISP go bust on me once. They were nice and kept the service running so it didn't just die suddenly. It just went without maintenance and died a slow death. Gave me time to get a new ISP without too much of a break.

I'd spent almost two years without the internet to so long ago. It was pretty awful. I'm very well off now, though. I've been using my neighbours' wireless for the last three months. It's really nice of him to let me.

Yeah, dial is when you use a phone line to connect to the internet. Broadband is...something different... where you can use the phone at the same time.

Edit: oh, right... Tasmania. That explains it. Just give it a decade or 2 -that winking face that I can't get in the edit box-

;) Broadband makes my life easier, it washed up on shore there a while ago.
