When I learnt, I found it easiest to position my feet such that my idling foot was pressed on the pedal but in such a way that the pendulum motion was natural and push the pedal with the top half of my left foot.

um what ever your foot your stronger with liek the one you may kick a ball with that one goes on bottom and the non masculin foot is on top and it may help to start by holding onto a wall
