I was just wondering what video editing programs do people use???
I used to use windows movie maker and found it pretty good but when i upgraded to version to it stopped working...
Is there any good programs you can get for free???
Can you download any through limewire, ares, bearshare etc
(i've tried searching but can'tfind any)
So...what can you recomend???
PS-I'd like to try making an amateur unicycle video!!!

There is only so much you can do with Windows Movie Maker.
Good, free video editing programs are hard to find. I use Editstudio but i had to pay for it. You could probably download it off of limewire and search for a serial number generator for it or something.
Be careful if you do that though, because sites which claim to offer serial numbers and keygen software, are often full of spyware and virus's.
Rock on!

Adobe Premiere. You can get a trial version from here (http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/) somewhere. :)

I have started using Adobe premiere pro 7, It has a crazy amount of features but I am starting to find it a bit overwhelming at times. It took me about 3 full days of working with it to make my last video and I'm still no where near happy with it. I used to use windows movie maker but I found the lack of features very annoying and due to the legal state of my windows XP I don't really want to update it.

Do you mean video editting, video authoring, or both?

Thanks for your replys i got a few programs i could use...
due to the legal state of my windows XP I don't really want to update it.
One day I decided to update MovieMaker to version 2 so i went to downloadcentre.com (or something similiar) and downloaded an exe file.
I installed it but (due to my windows XP) it mucked up and now neither versions work.
I've tried somethings but i can't get it working.
Is there any way i can delete all traces of version2 and hopefully get my old version 1 movie maker roaring again?????

sorry i don't know the difference between these terms...
I just get movies off a digital camera and add effects to them and cut them shorter and stuff like that...

I'm glad markf is a movie nerd.
Some of those programs seem a tad overwhelming, maybe i'll go for adobe premiere though...if i can get it 'cheap'
