Again this year the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic in Durango, Colorado is welcoming unicycles to the mountains of the Four Corners. The "Classic" is 47miles from Durango to Silverton, over two 10,000+ foot passes and some 8000 feet of climbing. Sounds like fun! If that isn't enough for you unicycles are also combined with the Cruiser class in the next day's downtown criterium. The crit is only 5 laps on about a two mile loop. The date for the Classic is May 27th and cost for the citizen's tour class is $65. The big goal for many Citizen's class riders is to beat the train to Silverton, some 4 1/2 hours after the start. Because the course is mostly uphill, I think the right Coker rider on the right day could beat the train. The Criterium is on May 28th and the cost is $40. (I hope the entry fee for the crit is less for cruiser/unicycle class becasue that's $8 a lap) If you're interested go to www.ironhorsebicycleclassic.com and you can register there. Mike Tierney rode the Classic last year and it would be great to get a podium worth of unicycles this year. Hope to see you there! Tom Miller, Kokopelli Bike and Board, Cortez, CO
