I've heard this expression many times before.

"I'd like a pound of twenties."

"How about a pound of twenties?"

"A pound of twenties would be nice."

My question to you, is how much exactly is a pound of twenty dollar bills?

Does anyone actually know?

I won't know if you're right or wrong, I have no idea.

I bet it's a lot, though.

It's enough to buy a 24" Torker DX, if that's what you want to know.

Psh, if I had an actual pound of twenties, I'd buy like six of them. And five 45" big wheels.

And a pony.

Why six? And why not a penguin instead of a pony?

Six, so if I break one, I got 5 more for backups. And I'd powdercoat them all different colors of the rainbow (except indigo cause I don't believe in that color) so I could have a choice which one to turn brown and muddy each day.

And a penguin? Pffft.

You know, a pund of ones wouldn't be too shabby.

john_childs

$145,280

From Money Facts (http://www.moneyfactory.gov/document.cfm/18/106):
The approximate weight of a currency note, regardless of denomination is (1) one gram. There are 454 grams in one (1) U.S. pound, therefore, there should be 454 notes in (1) one pound(Avoirdupois system).

So there are 7,264 twenty dollar bills in a pound of twenties.

trials_uni

Oops! I did.
I did the calculation really quickly and goofed on the conversions. I did the calculation as 454 grams per ounce instead of 454 grams per pound.

Here's the correct calculation from Google Calculator (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%2420+%2F+1+gram+in+dollars+%2F+lb&btnG=Google+Search)
It is actually $9,071.8474 since there is actually slightly less than 454 grams per pound.

trials_uni

ok i just rounded to 454 per pound...i didnt think there were over 7000 grams ina pound anyways.lol

Mmmmmm... Google Calculator

Quick! Takayuki Koike of Kanagawa, Japan, has the Guinness record for 100 miles in 6 hours 44 minutes. What was his average speed in miles per hour?

Google Calculator says: 14.8514851 miles / hour (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=100+miles+%2F+6+hours+44+minutes+in+miles+%2F+hour&btnG=Search)
