I found this note under my son's bed. He's 6-years old.
Made my day! I have yet to figure out how he spelled unicycle correctly. Maybe a UDC sticker that's on my cello case.

Hi Gild,
Thanks for the ideas! I think I'd wear that on a T-shirt. I'll give you some royalties if it goes into production. :)

It does make a cool avatar. I'm suprised that it can be read at that resolution. Your avatar, is that an undersea diver? I can't tell. Do you do scuba?

Any how, the kid is a bit young for the forum, but in another year you might just see that on an avatar associated with some posts that will curdle Miss Ayelery's tea!

I don't take milk in my tea, dear, so it's unlikely to curdle. But I welcome those posts to come. The wee ones should be encouraged to write by any means, and then gently encouraged to write well. It's the teenagers I have to be tough on. They've no excuse save laziness.

Hes pretty good at spelling, over 50% of that note IS spelled correctly and the whole thing is understandable. Having an interest is a good way of expanding ones vocabulary, my infant school teachers were surprised at how well I did in a standard reading test when I was about 7 and way behind on the reading scheme, I was in a church choir and could read all sorts of interesting words I'd sung and seen in hymn books , the reading scheme books were very dull and boring. Admittedly my spelling and hand writing were incomprehensible for a few more years to come.

Hi Tim.
He's six, we've had a 16" uni since he was 6 years and 3 months. It was a very cheap one and the wheel was not true. I spent the money just before Christmas on a 16" torker and that helped him right away.

When he wrote the note (apparently within the past month) he could comfortably move around the house on his uni bracing with one hand on chairs, tables, etc. Just today, though, in the basement he rode 15 feet unassisted and unsupported except for the mount! I am so proud. I will post pictures soon. He turns seven in march and I'm sure he'll be really motorin' by then.

He's about 48" tall and about 50 pounds and honestly, he's very strong, but not exceptionally coordinated (so I thought) compared to other kids his age. I both delighted AND surprised.

I learned when I was 6 or 7 and I am certain there are many folks who have learned younger. Tri Cities Unicycle club website cites people as young as 18 months starting to learn (At what age the tiny ones get up and ride, I don't know. You'll have to ask them :) http://www.tcuc.org/faq/#anyage ).

Good luck!

That's true. I was a budding nerd at a very young age and my folks bought me a subscription to Scientific American when I was in 2nd grade. It would take me all month to read one article, but it did the exact same thing to my vocabulary and spelling; I became very good in a specialized way. I never really caught up in conventional vocabulary and spelling, though. I suppose we pick our battles.

No, my avatar is Kenny from the animated series 'South Park'.
Kenny was killed in every episode with his friend exclaiming 'They killed Kenny! You Bastards!!' untill the producers got bored with trying to find new ways of killing him.
The avatar of him 'shooting at the world' caught my eye for a variety of reasons. This (http://www.lyricsfreak.com/d/deep-purple/38756.html) is one of them.

You can chuck my royalty into the beer-portion of the kid's college fund.
Education needs to be well balanced.

I'm in for a large black.

BTW, are you just going to copy the script and print it in white on the black shirts or are you going to print a 'photo' of the sheet of paper with the original writing on it on the shirts?

Careful...if he knows the source, it might not just go to beer. Or you could just tell him that GILB provided the stipend...

I'm good for an XL, whatever color. Not that I get a vote, but to GILD's question, I'm assuming it has to be photocopy of the actual note...it would totally get lost in the translation to some standard font.

Sign me up for an XL and a youth medium (size 6/7).

Podzol, I did about 120 tshirts and hoodies for the people on a car message board I use. I had them all pay me up front with Paypal. This worked out very nicely as Paypal has a function that will print parcel postage tags and take the funds right from your paypal account. Then you just put the tshirts in a priority mail envelope and stick the postage label on it and send them off. When doing the postage online, they include the delivery confirmation at no charge. You can easily get 3-4 tshirts in one envelope, my wife even managed to get 2 hoodies and 3 tshirts in one envelope, she's a master folder :) Anyway, just speaking from experience.. the paypal thing makes it sooo much easier than trying to keep track of addresses and them having to makes labels and cutting and pasting addresses.

Also, while the background lines look authentic and cute to those of us that know the whole story, they are going to make it even more difficult to read for someone who doesn't know what they're looking at in the first place. Especially with it being all one color. I would say that just using the text by itself will make it much cleaner. But I'll take two either way ;)

Hey, chosen.

Here are some hints about getting her attention, assuming she's worthy of it:

1. Confidence: act like you deserve some one great like her.
2. Flirt with he nicely. Some guys flirt by ignoring a girl or being a jerk to her. Never worked for me. Here's one that is so sweet she won't even believe it. wink at her and smile. Just once. It will make her wonder. You guys laugh, but that kind of thing can warm a girl's heart! Open doors for her and all that, of course.
3. When you talk to her, show a lot of interest in things she digs. Aske her questions about her. Soon she'll start noticing her checking out how cool you are if she's the one for you.

Remember, It's often the hardest for the coolest people to find the right person. Good luck!

But please, be aware that different people learn at different speeds. What might've taken you a few days might take me a few weeks, or someone else a couple months.

Yep I'm a girl. A girl with a guy's name. Podzol is the name of a soil. My nick name at school was Typic Haploblakod, which is my name translated into soil taxonomy. Other friends who see me ride call me Dr. Bobo (I am not a clown, tho.)

I get this:
They say: What's your name?
I say: Blake
they say: No your first name?
I say: Blake.
they say:Blake Blake. Now that's interesting. I'v never heard of that. Now what do you like to be called? Blakey? Blakely? Brook?
If I have the patience not to walk away, I say: Blake

Now that I finished school I can say: YOU may call me Dr. Ketchum.

Blake is my first name. Elizabeth is my middle name, but don't use it becasue I HATE it and I have pointy elbows and know hwere to jam them ;) !! I swore when I was a kid that I was going to change it. I just have been too busy to get around to it! Any suggestions?

Podzol?

poddy will u do any variations for those that want it on the back? ill buy it either way im just asking.
Since it's screen printed, I assume it will be possible to do one on the back. Since this will be a custom piece, there will obviously be a surcharge...
(Don't mind me, I just like the sound of my own keyboard.)

I'll make you some humble pie to eat if you like.
POW!
Eat up, my friend.

Sue.

Might as well balance out the poor guy who got named Sue and eventually changed his name to Blake.

If you were an actress, I'd recommend Alec.

I would so wear that...I'll cast my votefor the front...I also think the lines should be taken away, because no one else will get it...and maybe stretch it out so its not overlapping itself...like someone said, most t shirts only get a passing glance

well, it won't let me edit, so sorry for posting again
But how much do you think it'd be for one medium shirt sent to around Dallas, Texas?

Hi All,
Sorry for the delay.
The T shirts are waiting for me to recover from all the colds, flus and labyrinthitis that I have collected then for my cash flow to settle down. I am craping buy to pay closing costs right now on the new old house.

Thanks for remembering the project. I think the end of March you'll hear more progress is being made.

[QUOTE=chosen]i know she likes me, im just no good with girls. QUOTE]

I was scared of girls until I was 35. Then I realised that I was right be be scared. I'm still scared of my wife, my daughter, my clerical assistant, my female technicians at work and the lady in the post office. With the benefit of wisdom and experience, however, one can cover the fear with a veneer of sophistication and humour

Podzol: that note is the best! Put me on the list for a medium adult.

I PM'd her, but I seem to recall her announcing her permanent departure form unicyclist.com at some point in the past year...does anyone know? I can't be the only person that would purchase this.
