If you want the most unique watch in the world look at this place (http://www.nixiewatch.com/).
My uncle designed them and they are just starting t be mass produced. Look here (http://www.cathodecorner.com/index.html) too (that's his homepage).

do more research.
They stopped producing the neon tubes that it uses some time back. Now NIXIE tubes have a following of nerds who play with things like that. You'd have to be one hard-core nerd to buy one.

Man that has to be one of the worst looking watches I've ever seen, good idea but it really needs more than just 2 tubes to read out. And for $400 I'd rather buy a go cart.

Get a Nixon.
They look great, are very well made, and are pretty cheap, especially if you look on Ebay.
I've got one called a Rocker and I love it, I've had it for two years and it's still in very good condition, prior to this I had Mambo and Spoon watches which both broke fairly quickly.
Ebay is also good for getting limited edition Nixons that have either sold out or are ridiculously expensive in normal shops.

How about one like this (http://www.goantiques.com/detail,unicycle-championship-14k,829799.html)?

I got a Casio Waveceptor over the summer... $50, has alarms, date, day of week, plus it sets itself automatically in North America (I don't know about elsewhere). Analog & digital, the hands automatically adjust with the digital :)
Looks good, but still has that Geek factor ;)

Here's one of the first prototypes (http://selectric.org/nixie/index.html) that looks (in my opinion) much better. The two tube design is actually very cool. It flashes hours then minutes (the new ones have seconds, too) and is suprisingly easy to read. It lights up great in movie theatres. :)
here's another picture of the prototype.

No, that doesn't look like much traffic. That's only like 50 kbits of traffic, peak. I push like 3 mbits normally, yeah, like 60 times that peak.
