john, i owe u a major apology
i'd planned to head to a pub around the corner from the office and have the obligatory pint
(oh no, please, it's my pleasure)
things got a lil' complicated and i got stuck at the office and only left a bit later than planned
since i had to get home in time for Everybody Loves Raymond (the 'Angry Sex' episode - it was so worth it) allowing myself time to make supper and still fit in an hour's practise, the visit to the pub became less and less likely
and when i realised that i couldn't really go sit in a pub in the uniformy thing we wear at work, i realised there was only one thing to do
stop by a bottle store and pick up, horror of horrors, a couple of cans of guiness
(no, wait, it gets worse)
what i'm actually apologising for here is the fact that i totally, completely, absolutely, sepulchrally and wall-to-wall enjoyed them as well
i'm so sorry
No need to apologize. Guinness from the can is the way I get most of my Guinness (as measured by quantity). Amazingly convenient those cans. The bottles of Guinness Extra Stout are also nice but a different beer compared to the Draught. All depends on what I'm in the mood for.
I didn't make it to a pub today either. Went on a muni ride and was too dirty and tired to go to the pub. Instead I had a couple of cans of Guinness Draught. Even had a Guinness float. Vanilla ice cream and Guinness makes a strange combination. Good but not as creamy good as a root beer float made with good root beer.
Guinness at the pubs tends to be my fallback beer if the pub/tavern/bar doesn't have a good microbrewed beer on tap. If it's an Irish pub I'll usually go for the Guinness first unless they have a really good microbrew on tap that really tempts me.
