Hello,

Could someone write up a 'tutorial' on spoke tensioning/adjusting, wheel truing, and maybe (gasp) wheel building/lacing?

Thanks,
Forrest

yeah, I'm really interested in all that stuff too....an article on it would be GREAT. I saw a site on it once actually, J_C linked to it, I'll look for it....

merci.

I built my very first wheel a few weeks back, for my muni, and after I got the proper length spokes(UDC sent ones that were too short), the wheelbuild went very smoothly and easily, following Sheldon Brown's tutorial.

Yea, I vote for one. That'd be nice for LBSless peoples.

Wow, I just followed Seldon Brown's tensioning and truing instructions and straighted my Sun 28" wheel. One multi-size spoke wrench $9, plus 15 minutes time, done. Wonderful. I was lucky and it seems to have worked out well.

I figured I had nothing to lose giving it a try myself before leaving the uni at the LBS for them to fix for $20.

I am surprised the lateral bend which seemed localized to about 40 degrees of the rim came out so well. Had 8-9 mm offset, now the wheel is within 1-2mm. I expect it was very easy because the rim is aluminum and would have been more difficult with a steel rim.
