Hmmmmm, lemme think...
Unicycle. SHould I narrow it down?
Unicycle. Practice extremely difficult and tedious freestyle skills like coasting and sideways wheel walk that take forever to be able to do at all, let alone master.

Possibly get a job or volunteer somewhere, anything to keep your brain or body or both busy. Learn a new hobby. Learn to make homemade cheese or soap then find a flea market and set up shop. Investigate the library, lots to do there. Put a call in to the local school district and ask about tutoring summer school kids. Check out vacation bible schools at local churches, they always need people to run the activities. Go hunting, except do your shooting with a camera. Many of the aspects of game hunting are there. You have be stealthy and patient.

Hey, there are some here who are successful at doing both, I won't call out names, but it's attainable.
JUST FRICKIN' RIDE! Build a trials course and ride it 'till it breaks. Make videos of your trials rides. Post 'em on the boards. How could you possibly be bored with 1000's of random people across the Internet waiting to comment on your trials videos?
If you don't have the video equipment, find someone who does. Ferchrissakes, people are shooting "funny pet tricks" videos, it's obvious they're dying to shoot something of merit like unicycle trials!

Surely that's something you can do when you are bored anywhere?
Is it better to do it in Arizona?
My packet of Highland Papers said this to me this morning:

Good advice, especially if its raining.

1. Get a job. (so you can buy more unicycles)
2. Read this entire newsgroup, posting occasionally.
3. Set things on fire.
4. Mow my lawn.

I am not mad at you, but did it ever occur to you that not everyone is Christian. If he isn't christians there are many other things you could have suggested in terms of religion. Including work at your local Sinogogue, or help clean up a Mosque. Next time don't suggest something to do with religion because, he may not be Christian.

She is. She'll find the sinogogue spelling for synagogue amusing.

MM,
Thanks for your input. Neat thoughts. Thanks for not being mad at me. :) I have to admit though that this post took longer to appear than I had expected.
I would say in response that one doesn't have to be a Christian to do volunteer work or serve other people. I could have easily suggested other things, it's just that I'm familiar with vacation bible school. In the context of my whole post, I think I was being quite general in my suggestions. They most all have a similar ring of volunteerism to them, don't they? And, yes, I am very much aware that not everyone is a Christian.
I normally make it a point to not post to religious or political discussions for very good reasons. I will offer an observation here though. Please try to consider these general observations as well and nothing more so we can continue peacefully along with the group hug that is Just Conversation. By the way, I intentionally used a small "b" for the word "bible" in my original post.
It's very obvious to me that the Christian faith is always a dreaded topic. Mention other faiths or characters of other religions and they are waved off without much thought. Mention the name of the man at the center of the Christian faith and attitudes erupt, blood pressures rise, and mothers cover the ears of their children. It's a very interesting phenomenon and is easily explainable in my book...probably not in other's books though. :)
Now back to what to do over the summer...
Edit: I have to point out a good faux pas. Let's hide the word "Sin-ogogue" from the rabbi down the street.
Edit the Edit: Oops, it's already been mentioned.

Yeah, lol Synagogue thats right. I am a 100% born Jew. But I decided to take up Atheist, because I don't believe in anything at all, in terms of a higher power. And that was a nice and long post yoopers, wasn't expecting all that. But yeah... back to things to do during the summer.
I am a CIT at a Circus Arts camp, at a colege near my house. I am going to teach youngsters (5-8 year olds) how to juggle. I also plan on taking some lessons myself. I am looking forward to this greatly. And this is all volunteer, so this should look good on the resume, and colege applications, even though I am only going into 8th grade. It should be a great expirience though.

If your problem is that you are bored in Arizona, one solution may be to move and be bored somewhere else.
But Bruce's idea's are better.

Our park district has a whole catalog of activites for the summer. What's your town like? Do you have a park district, swimming pool, parks, hiking trails, etc?
I googled "summer activities" and found lots of stuff out there. Some of it was for mothers to keep their toddlers busy, but some of the other stuff is pretty neat.
A couple other volunteer suggestions would be to help with a reading time for children at the library or for the more brave at heart, develop a relationship with an neglected elderly person stuck in a nursing home. It can be a very scary start but very rewarding down the road.

I'm guessing Counselor in Training.
Or it could be Clown.
Or it could be Curmudgeon, but in that case, he would be better off taking lessons from Raphael (Raphael could probably help with the Clown thing too, now that I think about it).

I'm going to Denmark for the ride across denmark, the UniTur (http://www.unitur.dk). Then I'll stay there for the European MUni Trials Convention (http://fluck.dk/MuniTrials2005.htm). From there I'll fly straight to Ohio for NAUCC. Cedar Point will probably depend on what my ride from Ohio to MN decides to do.

Ow, hot in Arizona in the summer. I was in Phoenix and Tucson last year in May, and 100 degrees seemed standard for that part of the year.
So add "stay in the shade" to my list.
If you come up here, you're welcome to ride any of my "good" unicycles. But we actually already have someone doing the lawn so you don't have to. Instead, you could have the much more horrific (yet air-conditioned) task of cleaning up my office! :)
Awesome schedule, Gilby! Wish I could go to more events like that!
