for pictures: click the attach file button under the message field in the post message window. Then navigate to a picture and click choose or whatever.

for changing your text: click user cp under the ad at the top right of the screen, then click edit title. put whatever you want in the box, then click the button.

Welcome to the forums!

I really should change the default new user title... anybody got a good idea?

I could think of several scathing things to put, but I won't post em.

I really don't know though.

You could reverse the current order for the default user text. Have them start out as an expert unicyclist, then demote them as they post more. They'll start out happy. Then by the time they notice that their skills are going down they'll be familiar enough with the forum to change their user text.

If by a "picture" you mean an image that I for example might post below the text that you are reading now, then follow Fuego's advice. If you mean the little avatar image below your username over on the left side, click the "user cp" button up at the top of the page and go thence to "Edit Options." The avatar stuff will be toward the bottom of that page.

or the more pedestrian 'Beginner Unicyclist'
it doesn't have the borderline disparaging connotations that 'newbie' seems to be gathering

i do like the idea of something that indicates that they're new to the forum but not neccesarily new to unicycling
"Hi, I'm new to the forum." might work as well?

just replacing that with a post-count might work?

How about "Fresh Meat" as a title?

"Fresh meat" yes! i like!

or perhaps:

"I Have the Conch!" ('Lord of the flies' quote, for those who didnt do gcse english at my school..)

Or "..Finally made it Home..", "Improved tenfold by joining Uniforums" etc..

Or perhaps a random generated line for each new user - tho i guess this'd be quite a bit of effort...

Fresh Meat is still the best tho

how 'bout there's nothing there.... when you come to the forum you don't automatically have an avatar, or signature....so why automatically have a title?

or we go with Fresh Meat. that's a goodun. (:

One bit of confusion is how the default user text automatically changes based on the number of posts. It would cause less confusion if the default user text was static (didn't change based on the number of posts).
