Try using your specials when you need them, they come in handy when you begin to slowdown and should allow you to got at leats 3k+.

you're right, I forgot to do that most of the time before, but I just tried and got 2608.... I can easily improve that a lot though.

Awww man you should see when the stop chick hits her special. I had over 400 vertical before. Also today I saw something I've never seen before where a counter comes up and you fly horizontally for 100 seconds as the result of a special.
