They are my preference for uniing. They provide enough support, but don't have thick seams in the wrong places.

Boxer briefs are kind of like briefs with snug-fitting boxer-length legs. Their main advantage over regular briefs is that the hems of the leg-holes don't crawl up and wedge themselves into where they will chafe in the most uncomfortable way possible. They will still ride up a bit, but if you are wearing shorts you can get ahold of the ends and tug them down pretty discreetly, even while you're riding. Much more comfortable.
