Recently Suprnova.org (http://www.suprnova.org) was shut down, and I am looking for a good music torrent site. Any suggestions for this down-on-his-luck pirate?

Ha! I thought you were 1337, but you can't even find a torrent site. :)

Slashdot has a discussion going on right now about the torrent shutdowns: TorrentBits.org and SuprNova.org Go Dark (http://yro.slashdot.org/yro/04/12/19/1712258.shtml?tid=95&tid=123). There are other discussions about this going on around the net, but if I directed you to those it would be making things too easy for you. :)

I think they're talking about downloading movies off the internet, which isn't really needed when movies aren't that big of a deal, and most of us could afford to get enough to entertain us, also it takes money away from the people who make the movies. I wouldn't want people doing stuff like that to me if I made movies, or music, which I probably won't, but I can't really compare being an electrician to that kinda stuff, so yeah.

Kinda, but different.
Here's a BitTorrent FAQ (http://dessent.net/btfaq/) that explains the protocol and other details.

It can work better than Kazaa or Morpheous for downloading larger files. If the file is popular enough to have a good number of seeders and downloaders then the download speeds can be quite fast. You can try it out by installing a client and downloading a Linux distro like Knoppix (http://torrent.unix-ag.uni-kl.de/). That will let you see how well it downloads large files.

except that hollywood makes crap that isnt worth paying for. at least by stealing the movie it gets seen, which is all those morons can ask for. and its not as if the dvd business is failing horribly. think adult swim...
