The new gallery

The new gallery seems to be working well. I like the new features in the upgrade.

I was creating a new gallery and ran in to some issues.

With the old gallery version you could upload an image that would be used as the highlight image for a video. The highlight image would replace that black and white movie projector icon. You did this by uploading a JPG that had the same name as the movie. This is no longer working in the new gallery version. How do that with the new gallery version?

Can you tweak the new gallery so that it will accept an RM file for Real Media? Right now it rejects an upload that has an RM extension. The old gallery version did the same. I have a few RM video files and it would be nice to put them in the gallery.

I think that using an image for the video thumbnail was an unintentional feature. I tried searching the forums at the gallery site and I couldn't find any way to do what you want. You can try searching at http://gallery.sf.net if you want.

I have added .rm files to the list of accepted files.

Thanks for adding the RM file type.

I like your choice of words for "unintentional feature". Sounds like a useful bug to me. :) I'll work around the video highlight by posting a separate screenshot from the video and then just say "this screenshot is from this video". Not as nice visually, but it will accomplish the goal.

i cant seem to move my pic's around any in album.it gives me the numbers of the pic's and a choice of what number i want it to be like the old gallery but there is no "apply" or "move" button...help.

John, you seem to have that working now (i was looking at your Japanese Freestyle Album) - or is that grandfathered in from before the upgrade? If you figured something out, I'd like learn how to do it.

Jagur, I was also wondering about that, but I found a 'Reorder Photo' option which works for me. When you're logged in it's in that pull-down list of options under each item.

I did that with the old gallery and it carried over to the new upgraded gallery.
