So Tonight I had a very interesting night.
I went to the last show ever at my favorite club that unfortuantlly is turning into apartments this summer. Dont ask why it a long story that ends with the main promoter is an asshole.
So Durring the berlin projects set (last band) there was a girl 13 years old, I didnt catch her name that was passed over head. Every thing seemed completly normal and then at the end of the song we all heard a horrible thud. I figured it was a hip hitting the ground and expected the girl to pop right back up. That did'nt happen though. Suddenly there were people screaming for help. I instantlly went over and I just knew what to do. This is the first major first aid injury that I've ever had to deal with as a first responce. For some reason I just knew what to do and didnt question myself at all. The girl had fallen and hit her head and was unconcious. So I yelled for people to give her space and stop the show and checked her vitals. She was breathing and thus had a pulse. (I checked it anyway) By the time the Security guards were there they figured that she was fine and passed out durring the show and wanted to move her away. I had to insist on it by the point of stepping in where if they were going to move her they would have to kick my ass first. And they could. A few moments later an EMT was on the sceen and steped in. I went on to croud control to give him some space to work.
The biggest thing for me is that when I think about it, I did not think about my actions. They just flowed out of me. Lucky for this girl my insincts just happend to be the right ones that I accredit to years of being first aid certified by numerous orginizations.
Fuck, I really thought this was the kind of shit you only read about but today it makes it alot closer to home.
