Yes, happy birthday.
FYI, there is an article in the latest Kaskade about The Academy of Circus Arts (http://www.zippo.dial.pipex.com/aca.html) which, as you probably already know, is based in the UK.
If you don't have it already or can't get it locally, if you PM me, I can fax it to you possibly tomorrow, but certainly early next week if not tomorrow.
Cheers,

If you can wait, send me a PM with your mailing address and I'll put it in the post. Of course, if you've contacted them you'll get lots of information I'm sure. But just the same it's nice sometimes to get an outsiders write up.

Happy birthday Treepotato! Weren't you hoping to get a Kaskade subscription for your birthday? That would eliminate the need for faxing, emailing and all that. (And violating © issues.)

Klaas Bil The law actually does seem to be vague on this but here is a quote from a 1974 decision of the United States Court of Claims, in a case (http://fairuse.stanford.edu/primary_materials/cases/c487F2d1345.html).
"There are other examples from everyday legal and personal life. We cannot believe, for instance, that a judge who makes and gives to a colleague a photocopy of a law review article, in one of the smaller or less available journals, which bears directly on a problem both judges are then considering in a case before them is infringing the copyright, rather than making "fair use" of his issue of that journal. Similarly with the photocopies of particular newspaper items and articles which are frequently given or sent by one friend to another. n13 There is, in short, no inflexible rule excluding an entire copyrighted work from the area of "fair use." Instead, the extent of the copying is one important factor, but only one, to be taken into account, along with several others."
Italics are mine.
Long and short, sending an article to a friend, or in this case, acquaintance, does not really seem to be violating copyright. I'm no lawyer and this case is old, but this paragraph seems to make perfect sense.
Anyway, treepotato, should subscribe to Kaskade, but even if she does may not receive the latest one.

In fact I just subscribed to Kaskade for someone and in the web-form process you can indicate whether you want to start your subscription with the latest or the next issue. That's neat.
