The temperature has been below 0 C (273 K, 32 F)For the whole day. I'd say ny the end of the week we have about 10cm (4") snow around here. That means it will be really slippery and I can finally try riding around in snow.:D I'm really looking forward to be riding on ice.

I've only ridden on snow and ice for a brief few days last year, but it was excellent fun. All around people on bikes were proceeding very cautiously and wobbling all over the place... whereas my knobbly 3" wide Contra laughed in the face of all that is slippy and kept going.

Muni rocks in the snow!

I refuse to use the word "knobby" because it sounds plain silly. They are knobbles, therefore the tyre is knobbly. Oh yes.

Brrr... I thought it was supposed to be nice and warm down south, but this morning it was apparently -3 degrees C. Cor! Maybe snow isn't totally out of the question after all...

High of 82 degrees F is today's prediction. I don't think I'll see any snow here today:D

Where I live, winter is usually about from October to May. But this year it's taking longer to snow. Sometimes it's still too hot to uni!

I'd say that it's almost the same around here. Except for that being too hot to uni part. The temperatures have been below 10 C (50 F) for about a week. Snow usually starts to fall at the end of September or within the first two weeks of October. But still this has happened before. Nothing to worry about. In Lapland (Northern part od Finland) there's already been snowing a bit.

Snow MUni or Coker is fun, we had a storm in September that I was able to MUni in. We just had the warmest September ever, and October has been 15 degrees F above normal so far.

Nice photo. Maybe I'll get some too during the winter. Too bad that the daytime really gets short around here in winter. In Lapland the sun doesn't come up at all, and even here in south the sun only shines about four or five hours in the middle of winter. Maybe even a bit less. I'm not sure about it.

By the way. I ordered two new tires today. A Maxxis Holy Roller and a Maxxis Maxx Daddy. Both are 20" tires and I ordered the widest possible. I wish to do some trials with these. The tire on the unicycle, at the moment, is the original Taiwanese 20x1,75, which really isn't too bouncy. I wanted to get a Monty or something similar but because off the strange rim sizes I couldn't.

AAAHH!! Now we have about the 4" of snow I was talking about. Almost all of it rained last friday. I didn't have my Nimbus with me while visiting home so I only rode the other 20" I had there. It just didn't act too well in snow because of the skinny slick tire. Yesterday I got back to Tampere and today I rode around the local area for a little less than a hour with my MUni. RIDING IN SNOW ROCKS! I just love the feeling when the tire slips a bit under you but you're still in full control. Snow totally messes the jumping height but drops are much easier on the cranks and hub. I just rode out of drops I really haven't done too well before.

The bad part is when there is a lot of snow it's hard to get your uni going where you want while it wobbles badly under you. So sometimes it's a bit easier to hop to the edge of a drop and then down you go.

The 3" Gazza is an awesome tire in the snow. I think it was a lot easier to ride with my unicycle in the snow than with my bike that has some 2,25" tires. The grip is just awesome. You can ride down some steep hills without any problems. And I love the sound that snow makes when you ride on it. The tread pattern on the snowy surface looks cool (and wiiiiiideeeee).

I jumped some stairs too at a playing ground and some people walking with their dogs stopped and just stared at me while I hopped up the stairs and then turned at the top and rode down. They said nothing, just stared. There were also some younger kids going down some hills with sledges (I don't know how it is spelled, but I mean those things you sit in while going downhill) and I rode down the hill and jumped a bit around. They were pretty impressed. Wish I could make some influence on the people around here and everyone would wish for a unicycle for a christmas present.:D

Hopefully, with the "greatest snow on earth," we'll actually get some snow this year. I haven't been too impressed with Utah's claim to good snow so far. Of course, I want snow for different reasons than most of those around here...
To me, snow is good when there's a whole lot of it.

Flurries have started here, I just wish it would hold back for a few more weeks, this is still prime Kick Ball Season....
