Are you a thread jacker if you merely respond to a post that is a thread jacking but do not initiate the jacking of the thread?
Thanks,

I can't get the fool thing to work. It just opens up this funky small grey dialog box, but nothing but grey matter ever appears.

and, verily, u got it
this kind of thread reminds me why i enjoy this forum so much
for my efforts of yanking this thread back to it's original topic, flying in the face of the fine efforts of all who posted before me, what do i get called?
a thread re-jacker?
in answer to raphael's original question
yes
'die deler is so skuldig soos die steler'
(n afrikaans expressions loosely translated to 'the sharer is as guilty as the stealer')
thread jacking on this forum is an interesting issue as i find most of my entertainment from seeing how long a thread stays 'serious'
and, for the most part, i think we've got it pretty right
when someone asks a question or raises a serious issue, we seem to give it the space to be discussed before the (inevitable) outbreak of zanyness
should someone, however, jack a thread with the first reply, a responsibility exists to drag it back to the original topic
this, i feel, is especially true when a new person posts on the forum
sure, don't lull them into a false sense of security, but do respect the original topic for long enough so people get the impression that the can actually gain knowledge, advice and whatever insight is available from these forums
after that, fish.
daino's effort onthis thread (http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27878&pagenumber=1) was inexcusable tho and could probably stand as a definition of a 'thread jacker'
if u want to discuss movies, start a thread!

;) Good call GILD! I think if your thread was to be hijacked, it should have been about anything but another damn movie thread. Diano was not the only guilty party though, I was an accomplice along with quite a few others including the anonymous Monkey Wrench. Maybe you should get back in there and regain control, restore your thread to it's original unanswerable self, and vanquish the evil threadjackers.

P.S. - I was only kidding in the other thread (I'll just post about here in this thread) when I said you were no Mikefule. I hope you are not mad at me. Your unicycling tale was interesting and well written. I only replied to it because nobody else had -- and I felt bad for you.

Do we? Hmm. Well... I suppose there is smoked and unsmoked, but surely you have both too? Your society isn't *that* backwards, is it? Smoked is better... it smells nicer, so makes other people jealous more effectively, and that's what's important. My brother and I cooked bacon on the sunday morning of BMW, and several people mentioned how good it smelled... :)

What you call bacon, we call Canadian bacon. And what you call streaky bacon (at least according to that web page), we call bacon.
So, what kind of bacon was it? Bacon bacon, or the other kind?

Wow! The one-stop bacon reference of the Web! :)
Umm...
Personally I think streaky bacon is horrid, but it's not that common over here; it seems to be the most popular sort on the continent though, but we already know they're a strange sort over there.
Your Canadian bacon almost looks like gammon... simply because our "normal" bacon is back bacon (or "irish bacon" as that page says), and gammon doesn't appear to be anywhere else on the list. Maybe. Erm. Our rashers are that shape, anyway; one big meaty bit with a slightly fattier bit at one end.
But yes, back bacon is Where It's At. Smells gorgeous, tastes gorgeous and is generally all round most excellent when sizzling nicely in a frying pan.
Next time I have a bacon sandwich I must try to remember to document the occasion with photos...

To play hippocrate/devil's advocate:
I love it. It needs occasional tightening of the cranks and spokes, but otherwise, it's super good. Not good for Muni, as the pedals bottom out too easily, but great for trials. It's held up great on everything I've put it through, and just a great ride, better than the KH in my opinion... Better hub/cranks...

New Topic: Self-embarrasing situations. I'll start. It embarrasses me that I so blatantly botched my usage of "it's" above in a thread frequented by JJuggle. Of course it's obvious that the correct usage would have been "its" in this situation. Slip 'o the mouse or something....

Here you can get this off-looking green bacon that claims to have no artificial additives or preservatives, and is just cured somehow. I haven't tried it, and I like regular shoulder bacon, or sometimes streaky bacon. I'd say the smell of bacon is so good it even beats the smell of KFC.

Here's another: "Laughter is Enlightenment, Anger is Ignorance, To Cry is to Train". Thanks for your gentle correction, Steve. I saw a documentary on martial arts and really got a lot out of it, including the general sense of, but obviously not the exact wording of, that saying from Aikido. But, in truth, I was uncertain about the double meaning (in English, anyway) of "cry" - where it could mean not just suffering, but practicing a battle cry. So I used "weep" instead. "Weep" also has the double meaning of not just "suffer", but also "be deeply aware of your shortcomings to the point of deep sorrow", which is the point where real learning can take place. I was worried, however, because I initiated it during the war hoopla and it is a bit militaristic. All said, this little phrase has keep me practicing way beyond what I would have done, despite said "battlefield" being vague, undefined, and particularly un-war-like.

Well, for example, Willow ;) and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, both of which were excellent films, but the primary attribute of the actors were that they were short. Although Willow does actually give a bit of depth to the main character.
There's not really that much vertical integration. Rarely do you see a genetic dwarf (is that the PC term?) cast as a person encountering life's difficulties, having relationships, learning, loving, and all that stuff.

I must disagree, i never really enjoyed the taste of bacon or other forms of pork, i suppose it has to do with bakeries around here, they use the lowest form of ham there exist for the filling of pastries and...well it had some sort of effect on me...
i once knew a vegetarian that would eat only one form of meat, and that being BACON, not exactly a role model for me...
i suppose it has a lot to do with the backgrounds, around here bacon isn`t ussually a breakfast kind of food, actually i belive it exist only because of foreing cooking and it`use....
