Thanks again to everyone who's been answering my computer questions lately...I've got one more for you all. I've got a song that's a .wma file that I want to use in a little movie. Is there any way of converting it to an .mp3?

in the studio i use audioconvert (http://www.rmbsoft.com/ac.asp) but i'll back john childs to pop along any minute now with a link to a freeware programme

I was away at the California Muni Weekend so I'm a little late in replying here. :)
Sorry, I don't know of any freeware audio tools that will convert Windows Media Audio files to MP3 or WAV files. It's not something that I've ever needed to do so I haven't looked for any tools to do it.
Some of the free CD rippers can burn CD's from WMA files. Maybe one of them will be able to convert a WMA file to a WAV or MP3.
