the movie was very flat and in no way was it better than the other Terinteno movies.i'd say that this is his flop.that said it wasnt a bad movie,it was just slow and boring at times.the fight seen with all the hench men was painfully long.

the animated story portion was the best part of the whole movie.

P.S. Dear Quinten,Uma has the most ugly toes i have ever seen.please do not devote 15 minutes of screen time close ups to those nasty things in Volume 2!

I heard it was really gorey.

I have to see it just because i like Terintino.

its not gory, thats the wrong word.its bloody but not gory.for example when limbs get cut of,blood squirts out like a fire hydrante.its supposed to be rediculas but quikly becomes "just another cut off arm" "just another shower of red paint"

u guys suck Kill Bill was the most kick ass movie of all time it rocked so much! i dont care what anyone says but it had a good storyline WICKED fight scenes, great actors and actresses and finally a movie to spruce things up some GORE

the Toronto Sun (this even suprised me) gave it 4 1/2 stars!

PS: Bill is David Carradine, Kwai Chang Caine, the peripatetic Chinese-American Shaolin priest and martial arts master in the innovative series Kung Fu (you dont getta see him in the movie)

Terinteno is one of, if not, my all time favorite directors.

Kill bill did not fail to excite me. Its one of the few movies I've actually paid to go see recently. once in theaters and maybe 10 more times on a Post edited DVD rip.

Its not better than pulp fiction, but I think it may still make my top 10 of all time list. im not sure though.

Amazing movie.

this isnt a bashing thread,i liked the movie.i just didnt like all of it,esspecialy Uma's feet in the "Pussy Wagon" and the fluffy fight seen at the end.

i was into the movie untill Uma was given the sword, after that it got a little redundant thats all.

off to the Cali-Muni week-end bye.

I liked it, but then again, what do I know? I'm just a film student. ;)

Seriously though, everyone is entitled to their opinion so calling eachother flamers on such a topic is a little silly. The movie isn't for everyone. But I liked it.

Oops, my bad. I gotta write a retraction. At no point in time did anyone call anyone else a flamer. I was just mistaken. My bad.

Yeah, Pulp Fiction was a total accident. He was trying to do a remake of The Posieden Adventure, but screwed up his shots and his editing. Just luck it turned out Great. I know I personally would have rather seen Shelly Winters get that heart needle...

What exactly is your standard against which you measure "overrated"? All directors? All directors of the last two decades? Only those directors who have managed to start with indy films and rise to full studio funding? Orsen Wells and Alfred Hitchcock only?

Give the guy a break. He's not Moses parting the Red Sea. He's just an artist working in a particular medium, but one doing it better than the majority of his peers.

I think what Zod was saying is that Terintino's movies aren't as good as everyone says he is. But then again that's more of a matter of opinion. Going by this definition, i think J. K. Rowling, Stephen King, and Setphen Speilberg are WAYYYY overrated. Anyway, i can't say anthing bad about Terintino. I always appreciate a good cult film director. Kevin Smith made his best movies when he was doing them independantly. But i felt that Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was dissapointment. Plus, Kevin Smith sold out and did some commercial for a DVD burner or something. I don't think Terintino will ever get any better, and will really only be remembered for his older films.

A movie about Jay and Silent Bob? Who'd pay to go see that?

<stare>

I liked that... marvellously self-mocking and with more references to his previous films than you could shake a stick at. It was different from his other films, but I didn't think it suffered because of it.

Hey, if you like Terintino good for you. I personally have not been impressed by any of his films and may be the only person in this forum that thinks Pulp Fiction is crap. None of his movies are anywhere remotely near my Top 10 list.
Xwonka got me right..........I just don't think the hype lives up to what he's producing and that includes the self-hype factor....he's a bit of a narcisist...
But that's the good thing about movies......one mans trash is another mans treasure ;)

Jag rocks. He makes entertaining posts while drunk far more often than anyone else does. Forums like these need more drunken posts!

Hmm.. I have a bottle of wine and a couple of bottles of beer. Maybe I should finish them off, even though I don't drink wine. That should definitely make me post something funny here. When I decided to order my new unicycle I was a bit drunken and didn't even remember, rightaway, that I'll soon get a new unicycle. A couple of hours more sleeping and everything was fine again.

back to the movie...

i thought it was extremely well done

the acting was good
the story was interesting
the fight scenes were well done even if long
the camera was, like all tArAntino films, sylistic and sweet

it is hard to point out flaws in the movie.
i agree that the anime worked out great

i just saw this movie and i must say, it was so freakin sweet. i rarely think the movie i pay for deserves that eight dollars or so, but if i could i would have tipped too. seriously, i want to go watch this movie right now. since i can't think of any other movies i saw this year, this gets my vote for the #1 movie of the year. two thumbs up for ultimate awesomeness.

by the way, i sneaked into the texas chainsaw massacre remake after kill bill, and really, that has to be the worst movie i've seen in a long time. it was such crap, they should just rerelease the original into theaters. now that would be bitchin.

I finally saw it. A college buddy of mine got some bootleg verson on DVD so i got to see it on a big screen in the lounge of my resident hall.

I loved the movie. Very teratino-esque. Not really one of his BEST but i still liked it as a movie.

I saw Kill Bill last night on Tightass Tuesday. I thought it was pretty good. I got three tickets for NZ$10 which is pretty cheap considering it is usually $11.50 for one ticket. Jagur, Uma's feet may not be pretty, but does it really matter unless you have a foot fetish? I don't think your feet would be the nicest things to look at either, nor mine. It was pretty funny seeing cinema screen sized ugly feet. Austin, how did you manage to see Kill Bill? Here in New Zealand it is rated R18. Considering how violent it was there were quite a few laughs.

Nice work on pointing out the spelling of 'Tarantino' Phil, it was annoying me reading it wrong too. Some of you poor spellers should invest in a new brain or at least some education!

I was up in NYC with a couple of friends, and saw that they were playing Kill Bill. For anyone who doesn't know, NYC is riduclously expensive but i really wanted to see Kill Bill that badly. In my opinion it was well worth it. Ok, i didnt really want to see her feet for that long. And i didnt want to see Go Go penetrate a man with his sword but overall it was good. Not the best sword fighting, but it was above average. As a Tarantino movie it was ok, but those are some high standards with reservoir dogs, pulp ficition, and jackie brown as a regular movie it was pretty good

btw the soundtrack kicked major ass

the movie finally opened in the third world

i had a load of fun watching tarantino (thanx phill, i ignored this thread till now, your post set my mind at ease:) ) take the piss out of Hollywood and rubbing it in by doing it in this bizarre live-action manga kinda style
he just needed some Bollywood star as the male anti-hero and the rip-job would've been complete

the girlfriend didn't quite like it and spoke of the movie in terms that included 'pile...', 'heaps...' and a whole lot of other words they did mention in the movie a couple of times

i love the way they set up the sequal (well, part three) with uma telling the kid that if she's still sore about watching her mom get killed, she(uma) will be waiting
when do we get that one?

;)
