Gilby,

Is it possible to lengthen the time out for web mail sessions. I find that, because the wait is so long, I will log in to my webmail space and go and look at the forums or something else. When I come back, I have already timed out so when I try to open new mail, I have to log in again. It is not too painful, but I end up with two folder bars! One from the original session and one because I had to go through the log in again.

Mandell Degerness

Yes, I've experienced the same problem a fair bit. I love my unicyclist.com email address though...it's great to have one that's so different from hotmail and all those. I also like how simple it is once you're in there.

Thanks Gilby!

Andrew

Timeouts usually occur from having too many email in one folder. It's best to arcive your old emails so that your inbox will load quickly.

What do you mean by archiving? Can I do that through my email account or do I just have to copy messages onto my computer?

Thanks,
Andrew

Make a new folder in your webmail and put old messages in that.

Gilby,

I've created an Archives folder but when I click on 'Move checked items to...' or whatever it says it only shows up the INBOX folder. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Andrew

Gilby,

I removed the 8 items from my inbox to other folders and it now loads in 5 seconds. There must be a huge amount of overhead per note!

Andrew: I seem to recall that I had to log out and log back in for the folder to appear on that list.

The IMAP server is a bit slow. I think I'll look at other possiblities for what IMAP software to use for it.
