Johnny Snood!
Johnny Snood, Johnny Snood,
He's a man, but he wears a snood.
His snood is clean, his snood is bright.
That snood gives Johnny all his might.
Oh yeah, here comes Johnny Snoo-ooh-ood.

Mine is Colonel Steve Austin -- the Six Million Dollar Man. He could kick Batman's butt with his bionic arm tied behind his back.

He does have some very impressive gadgetry stowed about his person, though; I think that makes up for the lack of superpowers and not wearing pants on the outside.
I'm not really a batman fan, mind; Dangermouse could open a can of whoopass on him without even noticing, let alone breaking a sweat.
<bursts into song> He's the greatest! He's fantastic! Wherever there is danger he'll be there!

By the way, if you're into superheros and can tolerate a bit of hipster (super)irony, then you must see the, in my humble opinion, vastly underrated, Mystery Men (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0132347).
A fine movie.

Samurai Jack
(try Cartoon Network)
I saw it for the first time yesterday, but it was hilarious-- got into a fight with a huge Scot playing the bagpipes... had a massive sword and all. I was cracking up.
Then again, jack isn't exactly "super," so i'd have to say the Green Lantern

Of course batman is a super hero!! He defends Gotham from crime, doesn't he? He has no powers so he also has to be super smart. Superman can just walk right in a room and get shot at a thousand times. Batman has to use his brains. Batman could take superman anyday. Just read Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller.

I like that one. The Invisible Guy was soo cool.
But my favorite Superhero of all time is definitely Spider Man. Even before the movie came out, and he became everyone's favorite superhero. He's just, like, cool, you know?
As for the Batman VS. Superman conspiracy, Batman definitely kicks Superman, big time. I mean, Superman is just boring! He can't die, unless he has a special shiny rock thrown at him. So say there's some bad guy stealing the money, and he has a machine gun. He fires at Superman, and Superman is like, "Ho hum, I suppose I'll stop this guy." So he goes and stops him, but he justcan't die! And besides, say there was a Nuclear War, and everyone on the planet died from a Nuclear explosion. And all the Kryptonite was destroyed. Then Superman would still be alive, in all the ruins of the entire world! And he would be alive for alllllll eternity, and that can be a long time if you're all alone. The only thing left would be cockroaches, but other than that he would be so lonely. So Batman is definitely better. But Spiderman is the best.

my first favorite is definatly batman he kicks so much ass, and if you say that batman can't do anything(he can do many many things) then you'll also have to say the the punisher can't cause if you read the dark night returns series he uses just as many weapons as the punisher and is just as ruthless, he breaks some dudes spine, with a flying dropkick. he also converts the frickin batmobile into a tank to fight the mutant gang
my 2nd favorite is venom(in lethal protector hes a hero) then ghost rider followed by colossus then punisher

Phil,
In the fine tradition of uber-nerdiness, I just noticed that you didn't put the ending tag on your post: </bursts into song>.
Have you been singing for almost a year straight? Didn't anyone notice? Or perhaps you knew the problem but couldn't find the unbalanced tag?

(not meaning to follow any trends but...)
I think batman has always been my favorite, ever since i was alittle girl, and superman my least.
Batman kicks butt without super heros, making him more super than the rest! ;)
And lets not forget about the batmobile...i mean, how does
he manage to drive a jet propelled vehicle?

Well allen I will laugh at you. ThenI will point a little. Then I will ask you how you liked Long Halloween. Then you will admit defeat.
anybody ever read a comic called squee? It started in an issue of Jonny they homicidal maniac, but then he got his own series.
It's super dooper gloomy, but hilarious, yet sick. I love it.
It has nothing to do with super heros though!

To my mind a "superhero" has to have some power or enhanced ability beyond what is achievable by a "normal" human being. Batman is traditionally regarded as a superhero, but he's really "just" an extremely fit, highly trained but totally human athlete/acrobat with a lot of gadgets to work with. He is of the same order as James Bond, or Tarzan, or Zorro; at the top of his field, a hero, maybe a super hero, but not a true superhero. This is certainly not to in any way diminsh Batman's accomplishments. He's a self-made hero. Guys like Superman who come waltzing in from other planets, flying through solid rock and swallowing bombs and shooting heat-beams out of their eyes, seem to have an unfair advantage.
Anyway, this question could be taken two ways:
"Which superhero would you most like to be?" - Superman. The advantage is only unfair if someone else has it...
"Which superhero would you most like to have around in real life?" - Probably Spiderman, who would be more fun to watch than Superman. I considered Wonder Woman, who is a babe, but kinda unapproachable; besides I would be spending all of my time running into burning buildings and such just to get her to rescue me. I rejected Batman, because his package would include the villains that he fights, who are just too dang creepy. And not Hulk; there are enough of his type running around these days as it is.

The Tick will always be my favorite.
Honorable mentions:
Gizmoduck - the only unicyling superhero.
Mystery Men - for their "Certain doom. Little chance of success. What are we waiting for?" attitude.
Batman - In one of the movies, he beat up Jim Carrey. That deserves some kind of award.

Is Concrete a superhero? Does anyone read Concrete comics? If he qualifies, I think he's my favorite. He's very strong, and loves to help people. (But he became a superhero by being put into an alien slave body, sans genitals, and escaping from the spaceship.)
