Yeah, he hit it a coupla days ago. Looks like now he's politely lurking until Christopher gets back from his birdman vacation.

I've been lurking recently myself to prevent the odometer from rolling over.

Cute. Obviously, "somebody" convinced Gilby to remove the posts odometers...

Won't Christopher be surprised!

Pssst! The posts tally is still available in the profiles...

. i saw Rhyslings name above the forum list so i know he was here looking around yesterday and i figured 9 days of silence was enough to show my dedication.

in that time the Faces gallery sure went up in flames and i feel sorry you guys had to deal with that "tastlessness"thread.it was like Sarah through a grenade into the forum and ran off.

Psssst.post tally is in the top ten also

Well, when's he gonna post and thank you for your chivalry, I wonder?

Maybe Gilby could change the post odometer to display the number in binary. Then the 1000th post wouldn't be such a big deal.

jagur
2002-09-10, 07:35 PM
i dont want to consult Klaas Bil everytime i want to know how many posts i have,so no binary please.(i dont want to learn either)

i like it this way.if you want to know its easy to find out,if you dont want to know you dont have to check.

ekimstorm
2002-09-10, 08:12 PM
so whats wrong with makin it easier to check. by that i mean putting it where it was before. if you dont want to know, you dont have to look.

im so very very lazy.......but not on my uni

it was removed because it gave some people the incentive to post little one liner posts that have no real content... just so their post count would go up.

Of course, if you really want that post count up, you can start a longest thread ever thread here in the just conversation forum.

ekimstorm

good point.

ok, i sorta agree now.

Longest thread ever you say... hmm we can do it, NO NEW THREADS! All threads for the just conversational go here now.

So what is the longest thread running... I think we can beat it if we try

Thanks, Gilby. I wished you would have removed it before that infidel, Jagur, reached the most holy of numbers, though. I wanted that pedestal for myself. I don't like sharing.

Wow, I never thought about it like that. Bring it back Gilby so I too can reach this high place harper speaks of.

whatever your seeing, its not the top ten like it was before.

i think your looking at all the members in desending order by number of posts.

If you want to see how many posts you've made, send a personal message to yourself. It still contains the number of posts. Hurry before Gilby finds out.

Or just look in your user profile. :)

But, maybe Greg enjoys sending himself private messages. Is that so wrong? As long as he's not hurting anybody, right?

I don't know what is common in the US,
but in Europe 668 and 664 are the neigbours of the beast, and 667 is living on the oppesit the road.

sendhair

Well, Leo, it works two ways:

One way is; "Neighbor" is whoever will join us in bombing the crap out of our enemy flavor of the month. (Fun Fact: The pentagon uses, on average, 666 rolls of toilet paper every day.... Coincidence?)

The other way is; Neighbor" is anybody living in our neighborhood... next door, upstairs, downstairs, across the hall, across the street, down the street, all around the 'hood.

As far as house/apartment numbers go... you got it right about even-/odd-numbered sides of the street... same in the U.S.

DING DONG! AVON calling?

666 rolls a day coincidence? Only if they use on each side an equal amount.

jagur, it was there when i posted, but obviously gilby had taken it off by the time you read my post.

gilby, why did you take off the 'top ten'?? i can understand you taking off the number next to our post, but the top ten thing is so cool.....and stuff.......

well, i guess we can still go into the 'advancedmember search' and make it put in order of most posts......i mean....uh..never mind.....please dont take that off too.....

What we need are karma points like Slashdot has. That way you get karma points for substantive messages and no karma points if all you're doing is posting useless messages to get your post count up.

"Longest thread ever you say... hmm we can do it, NO NEW THREADS! All threads for the just conversational go here now.

is the longest thread the ubiquitious 'tastelessness...' one?

rammstein
2002-09-29, 05:09 AM
Yeah, what is the longest thread so far? I'm sure that if we get enough people posting stuff in here we can make it. I'm somewhere around 120th place. Oh well, I'll make it up there eventually, I just have to post a lot.

rammstein
2002-09-29, 06:16 PM
I'm am somewhat higher in place now. :D YAY! It's a small victory, but it's still a victory.
