Tobacco only whew Thought I was in trouble for a second with the smoking quiz. JK. I'm one of thoes strange Straight edge kids who doesnt do any drugs at all. Yeah for me!
So why only tobacco goods on the list, I would imagine a fair number of Uniers have rocked the Ganja at some point in time.

im with you, straight edge.... but even my straight edge friends say i go a bit too far-- no smoking, no alcohol, no recreational drugs, no prescription drugs, no over the counter drugs(advil, tylenol, ibu) no soda, no coffee(eg caffine) or "energy drinks"
probably less than a liter of soda in over 20 years
i did take some drugs with i have my wisdom teeth removed(impacted) it consisted of 1/2 recommended novacane(and loud music), and 2 ibuprophen during recovery--no pain, no bleeding, no swelling, no bruising.

So that pack of ciggarettes I sent around with uni.5 went to waste! Damn you non-smokers.... I'm not much of a smoker myself. 3 packs a year maybe.

If you want to be truly straight edge, ya gotta say "NO" to that butter and yogurt and ice cream and cheese cake too! Can ya do it?
Oh, yeah,... no sex or alchohol, either!
Straight edge = like a monk who injests no junk!

Yeah if you add no sex youve got the hardcore straight edge thing down dude.
I personally just try to stay away from any over the counter drug if at all possible, and will only take percription drugs if I'm told to do so by a Dr.
The Caffine thing gets me though. I drink soda because it's convienient mostly and I like the taste, I also drink tea, because I've heard it's good for you 1 and also the taste.

I dont think I have ever heard of Butter and yogurt and icecream on that list... I have been doing this for a while now and it doesnt ring a bell. I have heard of no Refined Sugar though, if that's what your referring to.
Like everything there are different degrees to take everything. Staight edge is really a way of life sometimes. And just really hate it when people say they are straight edge and just dont do Illeagal drugs.

Checkernuts, things may have gotten a little more crooked since my straightedge days in DADABURGH...
It was a lot easier to "just say no" to butter and Baskin-Robbins than sex if it was offered by the right person, but at the time (this was the mid-80's), sex had developed its own special scariness, if ya know what I mean.
You can enjoy all the soda you want without the taint of caffeine in the form ROOT BEER! Of course, there's that Ol' Demon Sugar (the planet's main addiction) in there, like everywhere else...

Sorry, but for us straightedgers, bestiality is right out! Just because some vulpine b_t_h in heat is cunningly trying to tempt us with another forbidden fruit!,... don't think for a moment that we're that weak!
Of course, no judgement has been passed on your particular weaknesses...;)

Please post threads, like this one, that are not related to unicycling, in the "Just Conversation" forum. That's what that forum is meant for.

Well, the Marmite thread actually is related to unicycling in that it was a cultural thing at UNICON. The vegitarian thread isn't really suitable there though, but it's actually got some unicycling content in it whereas this thread has no mention of unicycling. Also, this thread only had posts in it from those using the forums and none from the email or newsgroup, so there is no point in having it in the RSU forum.
