Hi,
I don't know how difficult this would be to do, since you get posts not only from forum users, but from the newsgroup, and the data gets sent back and forth.
However, I'd like to request a counter that shows how many unread messages there are in the thread. What I mean is, instead of seeing that there are 18 replies, show that there are 18 (2) replies, meaning that I have not seen 2 of them since my last visit at a time I was logged in.
For an example of forum that has this feature (I guess you'll need to make an account to see it), visit:

If you arent logged in, of course, you'll see only the total number of replies.
If this is a feature on this site that I can turn on, or that I have totally missed, then I apologize. I am unobservant.
