Is STMP access to email possible or is it blocked? I would prefer to go through my POP3 client for sending and receiving and would really like to be able to use my unicyclist.com email address. Unfortunately, I don't have a permissive SMTP server available, so I can only use the unicyclist.com email address if SMTP access is allowed.

Due to the high likelyhood of my server being used for spam if smtp was made available, I have smtp service on the server completely turned off.

Most ISPs will allow you to send through their smtp server if you are on their network (you can even use your unicyclist.com address). But if your internet connection doesn't offer that, then you'll have to use the web-based email or find another source of email service.

As you have explained your policy in this matter above, I don't really need to know much more so I will not expect it to be answered. I also want to thank you for a wonderful service.

If Your policy will change regarding utgoing SMTP

, I would be happy to know this. I believe that there are ways to prevent users from sending out mail to multiple recipients.

This would stop any spammer. you could probably also limit the outgoing mail for a single user to approximately 500 - 1000 messages per month.

This would affect possible spammers, while a "normal user, would probably at most send out at most 10 to 20 emails per day (300 to 600 per month. )

PS. This message looks pretty awful in the preview, and I don't know how to make it look more readable.

I'm learning about wikiis, as an alternative to this way of posting to a forum. DS In wikis you don't really have to know any HTML tags to make postings
