There seems to be a problem with the new message indicator in the RSU forum for messages that are imported in from the mailing list. I have noticed this with messages from the email list. I'm not sure if it happens with messages from the newsgroup. What happens is that a new message from the mailing list will be added to a thread, but that thread will not be flagged as having a new message. It appears that this happens when the message from the mailing list gets inserted before a message in a thread that has already been read. I have noticed this with some of the messages from John Foss. I don't know if this is happening with messages posted by other people.

Are the messages from the mailing list and newsgroup marked by the date and time of the message rather than the date and time that they are imported into the forum? If that's the case, that would explain the unflagged messages that I've seen.

That's exactly the case. I have rewritten the gateway script and am currently testing everything out with it before making it live. That script sets it to the date and time that they were imported.

Ah, so cool. I should have known you were on top of it.

Now I just wish there was a spell checker in the message editor. My fingers don't always know how to spell. Why did they type out "flaggs" instead of "flags"?

I just looked and there is a hack available to add spell check to the forums. I'll give it a try and install it when I do the upgrade.

If you have any other suggestions for improvement, please let me know. I'm not always on top of everything.
